Emails

Post by Kip »

We have a new, but experienced, man at CWL who is trying very hard to straigten out the email issues.

If you did not receive the recent preview email or have had recent problems receiving the promotional emails in general please email to Mark@christopherward.co.uk

Please email Mark from the email addresses you want the emails posted to and he will investigate.

I know a few of you have been through this before, but please, lets give Mark a chance to figure this out.

E-mail sent, but frankly don't hold out any real hope of success, you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear & CWL's e-mail system is decidedly porcine......

I always get them, and I didn't this time. He has already found a problem so hopefully Mark is the answer! :)

They haven't managed it in the last 2 years, so 'not too difficult' for CWL is an interesting concept :problem:

it is less than 1/2 hour coding :)

if they can't fix it I will do it for them and swap for a watch :)

That would be a really cheap fix for them, it must be costing them loads of sales to supposedly registered people they have failed to contact.

Come on guys...lighten up a bit.

Most of us know that this has been a problem for some, but certainly not for the majority. I do not pretend to have any idea as to why this happens but lets give Mark a chance. Send him the info and lets see what happens.

Can't really lighten up when they seem intent on keeping some of us in the dark.

In reality, who can tell if we are in a minority....... CWL patently have no idea who is & isn't receiving the postings & a lot of people outside this forum might not be getting the e-mails & are oblivious to the fact they are supposed to be receiving them. Could run into thousands of lost opportunities every time? SERIOUS food for thought........

...........Which, presumably, is why CW have a new guy on board to work on these issues.......

So....... I guess you could give him a chance?

Kip - already done that - I have faith :pal: - have sent him my details...

Tyke - unfortunately email is one of those frustrating technologies where you can't actually guarantee anything...
The coding at the business end is very simple - but there are many pitfalls between there and the consumer - and not all can be resolved...
- spam filters at the consumer computer
- firewalls at the consumer's workplace
- issues with the consumer's email server (firewall / spam filter / blacklisted)
- problems with servers inbetween the business and the consumer...

however, while you can't as a business fix all those - I suspect that at least a % of the issues with CWL are at the business as I don't get the emails and I control the above for me - run my own email server / firewall / no spam filters / etc. - so I know that there should be no issues at my end...

so there is a good chance of resolving a high % of issues, but you will never fix them all

Wonder what happened to the last guy they had who was 'going to sort it out'
Mark has all the necessary details, so the ball is in his court. Just waiting to see if he serves up an ace or double faults........

Just had a reply from Mark about my lack of e-mail offers. Apparently I've been put on the suppressed e-mail list
So it would appear my current status is :banned: All this for a loyal & multiple repeat customer :problem:

Anyone else on the suppressed list, or am I in solitary confinement?

I am currently awaiting my parole hearing...........

I have also received an email from Mark saying that there was a disconnect and it is now fixed :)
Apparently as a more recent forum member I have been let off for good behaviour - unlike more established members of the asylum who are clearly now institutionalised :)
