How often do you see strangers wearing a CW?

Post by NMS75 »

Hi All

Having owned my CW C70 GE for several months now I have yet to see anyone else wearing a CW watch in the street or elsewhere. I have always had a major interest in watches and do tend to notice certain brands when I am out and about - mainly the likes of Rolex, Omega and Breitling etc. However, on a trip to Bath this weekend I finally spotted a gentleman wearing a C9 Harrison Chrono! A lovely looking watch indeed!

Do other members spot CWs on the wrists of strangers when they are out and about?

I've never seen anyone, aside from watch forums, wearing a CW. But that goes for all the watches I wear, CW, or not.

I'm soon to take delivery of my first CW but i see a lovely C7 Rapide in black on my friends wrist most days during the week.
He was the inspiration to get my own CW ;)

The only CW I've seen that I don't own myself is my friend's C5. Honestly, I'd be shocked if I saw a CW in the wild here in the States (and I'll admit that there's a part of me that enjoys that). Maybe us Yankee CW fans can have a get together like those crazy Brits are planning?

Most of the watches that I see in the wild these days are Citizens or Seikos. If I actually did see a CW in the wild, I might not be able to contain myself.

I suspect our foreign friends are less likely to see a CW in the wild (both because of numbers sold and the size of their countries!). I will say that it increases in likeliness exponentially (yes, I mean that rather than even polynomically) as time passes, thanks in the main to the increased sales.

I have seen two, but neither was on "everyday journeys". One was in Scotland, in the Borders (I'd say Ian would be proud, but they are Posh Southern Softies to him!) and the other on the London Underground. The latter was a white C6 so I asked the chap about it. I obviously scared him, though, as he was very vague (apart from admitting to loving it) and jumped off at the next stop!

I saw my first CW, a C2 Lido, on a chaps wrist at a meeting in London a couple of weeks ago.

I've seen a couple of 'unconfirmed' sightings, but this was the first.

Your odds will certainly improve!

Although I have had a couple members stop by and visit me, I have yet to see one outside of the shop.

I've seen 2 at work belonging to customers. A C70 Brooklands and a C5 (can't remember which). I complimented them both on their excellent taste!
