Interesting combination which looks good.

Two questions;-

1. I've got a few Moose Strap Co NATOs which I like (have you seen their new 'Combat' strap? Rather smart) but how do you feel about the large / wide fittings with the C65? I feel its too chunky for the svelte lines of the C65.

2. You seem to be wearing the NATO back to front. Any reason why?

Thanks Guy.

Two answers :D :

1. I think the newer MooseStrap buckles would blend with the C65 much better as they are thinner and look more refined. Unfortunately, the Blue Slim is currently carrying the older, bulkier buckle (I suppose they will use the new one once current stock of the old sells out) and it is too chunky. It obviously didn't stop me from purchasing and wearing the strap and, like most things, after some time the buckle doesn't really bother me day to day. I received an email from MooseStrap yesterday and share your affinity for the new Combat strap. If only they carried black PVD hardware, I would buy one for my Airman in an instant.

2. I watched an older Urban Gentry episode on YouTube regarding several different ways to wear NATO straps. One method was to invert the strap with the buckle end flowing from the 6 o'clock position, TGV saying some people find that more comfortable. While I think either standard or inverted methods are comfortable, the inverted way fits my wrist better and specifically seems to hold the watch in place securely while the traditional version allows for some slippage, especially on "seatbelt" style NATOs that have lower friction between the two strap pieces underneath the watch caseback. It took a day or so to get used to, but one would be surprised how little people notice wearing a watch with an inverted strap (or they just don't bother mentioning it). I have even tried wearing the CW blue rubber strap inverted on my C65, which I did find slightly more comfortable, and never had any inquiries as to why I was wearing my watch in such a peculiar fashion.

Best regards,
John
