Haha, I’m 46 and have been driving crazy cars like this since my 1985 GTI back in the 80’s. I love the rush of a light, quick car.

Re: CWL of the day
Thanks. Very cool! I’m disturbed that Honda is closing that plant. I don’t think there will be another Type R after Swindon closes. It just felt right to grab one.
Re: CWL of the day
^^ why wouldn't there be another Type R after Swindon closes?
As far as I'm aware the engines were shipped over from Japan as the build of the Type R engines was never performed outside of Japan because Honda wanted to protect the "zero failure rate" of the VTEC engines, at least that was the case for the "bread van" Type R of around the year 2003 and the following version. So despite the excellent work at Swindon the Type R is not dependant upon a plant being there (as far as I'm aware anyway but please correct me if I'm wrong).
The Type R is an outstanding car, always has been in every version. It sells incredibly well as the performance is amazing for the price (again always has been) and despite the abundant necessary aero features many Type Rs are being bought by a "more mature" customer. Chatting with the dealership at Ottershaw, Surrey last year they said they see more McLaren's passing the showroom than they can get Type Rs to sell in the showroom so it's very popular.
Congratulations on buying yours, I'm sure you will love it.

*** Sorry I've just realised this morning that this is a bit off-topic as it's on the CWL of the Day - I didn't spot that last night, I just saw the photo of the car and comment about Swindon and my fingers went into overdrive. **** If it offends I'll be happy to delete it.Mikkei4 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 11:49 pm ^^ why wouldn't there be another Type R after Swindon closes?

Thanks! I'd never made that connection before (and did have to do a quick image search to refresh my memory), but now you mention it...

I'm a fair bit older and now prefer the higher driving position and accessible performance that comes with a 3.0 V6 Turbo petrol SUV...

Re: CWL of the day
C8PR. I had been wanting a more casual/flieger look for a while - the black/red stitched Meyhofer with Bader is still very nice and suits well, but maybe a little too starchy sometimes. So finally decided to install a Hirsch Liberty. Not quick release, but since I would have to change the buckle anyway, not a big deal. High quality and chunky as the OEM CW Tiber but I feel suits much better than the Tiber which seems somehow underwhelming.
