C65 Super Compressor on smaller wrist

Post by Tbkbabab »

Hi first post, considering getting a C65 Super Compressor but wondering how it wears on a 6.5” wrist. Most of my other watches
are max 40mm but can live with a 41 provided the lug to lug isn’t too long and if the bracelet/strap doesn’t attach too close to the end of the lugs. I’ve also had a couple of watches with display backs which made them not sit well on the wrist as it lifted
the end of the lugs too far off the wrist.

Any feedback from owners appreciated.

I have a 6.75 inch wrist which is a bit larger than yours but this might give you some idea.

I find it very comfortable and easy to wear on either the bracelet or the leather strap.

Thanks for the link sounds ok view people seem to have to wear the strap a bit longer, do you find it sits
a bit proud of the wrist due to the display back?

It is only 13 mm thick. The lug to lug is 47. I think it wears very nice and low for a diver. My wrist is 7.5 so this might not be of much help.

I have a 6” wrist. It does look a little larger on my wrist than others of this size likely due to the shield shape of the case. The lug to lug is fairly compact though and it sits nicely on the wrist and is very comfortable for me.

It’s my most worn watch. If I can deal with it and love it with a 6” wrist, you should be fine!

A few reference shots for you:

Thanks for the last 2 replies, think that gives me a pretty good idea of how it would fit.

Just have to decide which colour, initially was thinking the Ocean blue but now thinking the dark blue might
be more of an all rounder.

Hi - I see you are on TZ-UK too. If you search for ‘A Super Supercompressor’ thread on Watch Talk, and go to post number #73 you will see a few wrist shots I posted.

I have exactly the same wrist size as you at 6.5 inch. The 41mm watch wears great given the relatively short lug-to-lug.

Go for the Deep Blue! It’s gorgeous. And pick up a beads of rice bracelet for it.

That’s what I had in mind doing, difficult to see exactly from pictures but does the Watchgecko BOR have polished centre
section with the beads of rice and brushed outer links?

^^ ^^
I've been really looking at the Super Compressor, again, it really is a lovely design. Just to offer you another perspective before you pull the trigger; personally I like the teal (lighter) blue dial, I think the contrasting rotating bezel really makes the dial pop. The deep blue seems to merge the two making the watch face appear bigger to me. I really like the black sand, too, which again has a contrasting bezel. I wonder if they'll reproduce that again? I'm sure whatever you choose you'll be delighted with, happy picking.

I’m looking to complete a 3 watch rotation of daily wearers, so far it’s a G-shock for garden/garage etc, a Bremont Supermarine
S301 and one yet to be decided, over the last 3 weeks I’ve narrowed it down to at the moment 2 very different watches a Sinn 556i or the Super Compressor.
Needs to have a bracelet option and be flexible i.e. casual but able to be dressed up a bit. The 2 white bezel ones sort
of say summer to me hence now thinking the Deep blue although agree it probably makes it look larger and less obvious
that it has an internal bezel.
I’ve tried to find some videos of the Deep blue but seems to be very little.

I believe that the Watchgecko BOR has the polished inner links and brushed outer links that you are hoping for. @Strapmeister posted his C65 SC on the Watchgecko BOR not long ago and it looks great IMO. Here's the link to his thread: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56842
Uncle Seiko also do a BOR which I have on a Deep Blue:

The Uncle Seiko BOR is quite good but not great. If I had my time over I would investigate others including the Watchgecko. It may be worthwhile asking @Strapmeister about the quality of the Watchgecko bracelet before you pull the trigger?
(I have a 7.5" wrist for your ref) Hope this helps..
cheers
