I guess it has been a bold move for W&W to do this and probably rather nerve wracking for CW to let them do as much as they have! It would be interesting to see some of the design ideas that were discarded along the way...
Being a fly on the wall of this design process would have been very interesting!
Thanks for all your well considered thoughts. I agree that there is 'a lot going on' with this watch, but I find it a little bit bold and a little bit different. Writing this review has been like getting to know all the ins and outs of this watch..

WRT photos within the text, I wish my photos were good enough quality and i’d be happier to mix them with the text. But the other reason for doing it this way is simply because I was having tech problems with doing that. For some reason the only way I could add add pics was as a new post with no other text!
I won't volunteer to help after messing up your sales post the other day!
Something isn't working for you, but I really don't know what it is.
Sounds like a job for BahnstormerMan!
Bahnstormerman established that my phone isn't on speaking terms with Sales Corner, or randomly with other chunks of text. I figured out how to attach pics from my laptop instead, and the relationship seems to be more friendly!

Very cool watch. It reminds me of Hamilton building a watch for a Star Wars character. Looks like a futuristic field watch, to me.
It’s interesting because ‘futuristic field watch’ is a great description - of one of its faces. The other face - depending on how it catches the light - is way more retro. I don’t know if that’s what they intended to build but it’s definitely an interesting watch

We have bright sunshine in Edinburgh this morning, and in this light the date circle is plenty visible
This certainly is a different watch on different days...

I’m curious, do you think if this were purely a CW watch it would seem out of place, and that by working with W&W and it gave CW the ability to do somethings outside the box? I wonder if a collaboration like this (and maybe others in the future?) allows CW a safe space, so to speak, to do test the waters with something different. Does that make sense?

It does make sense I think, and i’m curious about this too. I guess that with any collaboration what you hope for is an end product greater than the sum of the two parts. I suppose I tried to just write a balanced review without entering that debate - perhaps I should have dipped my toes in the water.
What I find fascinating, as I said before, is my feeling that that this is two watches in one depending on the light. Maybe that’s the New York/ Maidenhead characteristics coming through

CW certainly have history with concentric circles. The apex is an example but maybe a clearer example is the C9 Harrison GMT from way back. I spotted laird’s one on CWOTD recently. I think the date circle is a new departure for CW?
I think that any good collaboration should allow the participants to look outwith their own boxes and try new things while still being able to bring the best of their own DNA to the table. Again, each of us will have an opinion as to how well this was achieved
