Trident dial switch

Post by SlowLoris »

Hi

Without wishing to start a discussion of 'the subject that cannot be named', does anybody know if it would be possible to switch a 38mm dial from one Trident C600 watch to another. I'm thinking of replacing a MK3 'new' logo dial with a Mk2 'Chr.Ward' one. I realise this wouldn't be possible with 42mm or 40mm.

Thanks in advance.

The dial feet will be in the same position and so, will physically fit onto another movement, but the dial diameter might be a problem.

The only way to know is to open both watches and measure the dial diameter.

Thanks very much. I shall investigate further.

The simplest way would be to swap the whole movement complete with dial and hands. If it fits, you can contemplate whether you want to swap the hands as well. Thus achieves the same thing as a dial only swap, but is slight simpler.

If it doesn’t fit, you haven’t gone to the time (and possible expense) of a dial swap.
