Based on the anticipation of the sale being discussed here, I thought I would let you know some information I have received from CW.
Because of the lockdown situation in the UK the sale has been delayed. All I can tell you is keep watching for it.
Another unfortunate result is that CW is closing servicing and repairs for 4 weeks.
Customer Service will be in touch with all customers who have their watches with CW at present.

Thanks, Kip.
Can't say I'm totally surprised. It's pretty grim.

The half minute which we daily devote to the winding-up of our watches is an exertion of labour almost insensible; yet, by the aid of a few wheels, its effect is spread over the whole twenty-four hours.

Re: UK Lockdown causing delays at CW towers
Thank you Kip. It's not unexpected given the situation in the UK. Let's hope that all at CW continue to be safe and healthy this time too. And this goes for everyone, especially those in the UK who are going to have a hard time for the start of the year.

Without getting into politics, this lockdown should have come in 2020. Unfortunately the "better late than never" approach has made it infinitely harder for schools and will cost more lives...

Re: UK Lockdown causing delays at CW towers
Seems like the sale was delayed for a couple of hours at best. Probably not a smart idea.
I can hardly wait for the pages of whining from folks who feel they deserve for their watch to be packaged and shipped IMMEDIATELY during a lockdown in the midst of a global pandemic.

Agreed, the UK wide lockdown should have come sooner for sure, the consequences were inevitable...
As for the heads up - thanks Kip, welcome and useful to advise that the normal exceptionally fast service will be slower (just in case it wasn't obvious). - people get used to (and spoilt) by such service being the norm for CW.
I'd like to think anyone demanding immediate delivery is just the result of excitement of getting their shiny new watch, but in the circumstances, I'd concur, patience (and perspective) is the watchword - getting our new shiny watches on our wrists is NOT the priority, people (CW staff) staying safe IS.

I noticed that only 'Standard Delivery' was available on today's sale purchases.Mark_B wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 12:51 am. . . . . .
