CW Buckle Survey

Post by Bahnstormer_vRS »

The CW Product Team of Adrian Buchmann, William Brackfield and Jörg Bader Jnr, are currently seeking help in the form of Customer Feedback in relation to CW Buckles for straps and have asked for Forum Members to contribute.

They have written;-

The survey / questionnaire is quite short and anonymous.

Hopefully, we will see deployant bader buckles on more types of straps.

It would be nice to have a bader as an option that could be added to a strap or watch purchase.

Agreed! After experiencing my first deployant clasp, it’s now a must for me. For straps that don’t come with one, I buy an after market one and add it. It’s nice to see CW is surveying their customer base to see what interest there is. I’ve always been disappointed that CW has traditionally only offered the Bader on their cordovan straps - as I said, a deployant clasp is a must, cordovan is not.

I agree also. A clasp should be an option, it's that extra classy touch for most watches and it helps keep the watch centered on the wrist.

Great survey, although there could’ve been a couple of options for “Don’t Know “

I think the Bader is the best clasp on the market. It’s far far better in my humble opinion than the standard deployant clasp.

Very comfortable and as has been mentioned, it always sits in the centre of your wrist.

Although ironically I have 2 CW straps (leather ones with blue/white stitching) in my box without a watch attached.

The survey is a good idea IMO.
My suggestions were along the lines of making the straps closer to equal length (e.g. 100/105)to better locate the clasp on the wrist (try an Omega strap on the OEM clasp or on a Bader to see the benefit) and a suggestion that they also sell Bader straps without the clasp - after all the clasp will/should outlast a multitude of straps, so why pay for the clasp each and every time you need a strap? Sometimes you want the clasp, other times not so...

That’s really more of a recent thing. They have offered Baders in alligator, faux crocodile, peccary, sports style “punched” straps, plain black and brown leather and probably more that I’ve overlooked. The cordovan straps are a more recent (but very nice) option that has now became the only offering for them.

I also agree that the Bader is excellent, my sole complaint is that modern versions carry no external branding and thus look generic.

Completed - I like the Bader deployant and have it on two watches. It can be tricky to securely close on thicker straps like the leather on my C65 Black and Gold.

Oh BTW, I put a Bader on any watch I wear regularly. It's a 'must have' for me.
There's always time for one more.

Personally that doesn’t bother me. I wouldn’t necessarily want a CW branded clasp on a watch of another brand. My OCD wouldn’t allow that.

Luckily, but as I said I’m currently not using them, my two Baders are both branded and unbranded.
