The Year of the Chronograph has arrived with the release of the C60 Chronograph

Guy I look forward to seeing the pics of yours when it arrives.

To reference a comment from a welsh chap about a previous CW release - the height at 17.2mm looks to be taller than his wife. :)

The L2L is stated as different to the 42mm Trident 3 hander.

It looks good. Whilst I don’t mind a 30 minute counter on a more dress style Chronograph, I have always viewed a full 12 hour counter as far more useful on a tool watch Chronograph such as this.

I’m disappointed, I was looking forward to getting my hands on this watch. At 17.2mm and a rather high protruding case back it will make for an uncomfortable wear for me.

What's wrong with a case height of 17.2mm.

The C60 Trident Pro 600 Chronograph Automatic is 17.1mm and no-one particularly complained about that.

PS> The C60 Apex is 16.4mm; no much different.

@nbg - I'm not sure that I will be Neil. Not straight away at any rate.

I know I've sold my C60 Chrono P'type but I've got other large chronos, specifically my Marathon CSAR, and C60 Apex; plus my recently purchased C60 Elite GMT. Then there's the forthcoming C60 Abyss SH21(?). We'll see.

I do like dial and bezel design but as said, the protruding case back is a no for me. Comfort and wearability are important to me otherwise what’s the point in buying a watch.

I think it looks great. I expected it to be tall, so there is no surprise there. And my wife hasn't grown since the previous version so she can still hide behind it!

I've found over the years that if a lot of a watch's height is in the caseback, then it doesn't wear that tall on my wrist, as the caseback sinks into the soft hollow on my wrist. So watches like my Omega PO 8500 wear fine, despite the official height. But watches where there is no depth to the caseback can wear very tell, e.g. my Tudor Black Bay ETA, which I had to sell as being too tall in the end. So you can't go entirely by hard stats, you've got to look at the design shape too. Clearly, someone who wears their watches on the bony part of their wrist may experience the opposite to me.

My only real concern is whether it is really shiny in real life. I found the standard C60 Mk3 too shiny, which is why I ended up with the Ombre version that is more matte in finish. I'm hoping that the sub-dials will take away some of the wide open shiny spaces on the dial. There is also more detail on this bezel, which will hide some of the shininess.

All in all, this is certainly on the "definite possibilities" list should an appropriate deal present itself in the future.

I tried the Pro 600 Chrono when it was first released and it just did not sit well on my big wrist. Biggest CW disappointed for me as I had made a booking to especially see the watch. When I compare the Pro 600 with this new release, I fear the worse.

17mm will just slip under my dress cuff. I think not. I think that's the thickest case spec I've ever seen. Seiko tunas are only showing 15mm. Is that real or a misprint?

It’s the Sellita Valjoux 7750 clone movement that gives it the 17mm + depth. My Sinn 103 was the same. Others are too. It is what it is!

Steve was that your BB GMT you sold for being too tall or the BB ETA..or both?

For me I think it is a handsome looking watch, although at 42mm and with that height you will need a decent sized wrist to wear it comfortably, probably too big for me.
