Red Bezel Tridents

Post by Lu.. »

My goal is to get a red bezel Trident...I've seen the MK2 & MK3, just curious if CW made a red bezel MK1.

The Mk1's I've seen have the hour dot indicators, which mimic the Rolex and I like how they look.

I just searched in ebay and there is an MK2 for sale, but prefer one that has all the documentation and original packaging..having said that, please post pics, info on red bezel Tridents.

There were a limited number (I’ve seen 32 mentioned, but I’ve not idea if this is correct), of MkII COSC SH21 versions made. There’s a photo below.

Looks like the C60 Trident 300 came in a red bezel. This is a quartz model, by the way.

Having tried both I would argue they are alternatives rather than substitutes... :D
Very different beasts but each has appeal.

I like the Tudor (as it is a Toyota Rolex), but my watches must display the day of the month...when I'm at work, I always check my watch to see what day it is as I make entries in logbooks/journals/notes etc...

In addition, the Black Bay I believe has an aluminum bezel while the Trident is ceramic...this will be an everyday watch for me so I'm hesitant to scratch up a premium watch like the Tudor after spending all that money for it.

I totally get where you are coming from with the date - a daily for me must have one these days as I check the date on my watch several times a day too. I have my Black Bay as a weekend/evening casual. I actually prefer the look of the aluminium bezel and its more scratch resistant that you would think - not a single mark on mine and I've had it almost 5 and a half years (I did wear it as a daily for about 12/18 months after I got it). The Trident is a fantastic watch, I just think that the red bezel/black dial is straying too much into homage territory for my liking. Plenty of others to choose from - maybe red bezel, white dial? I sold my white dial/black bezel a couple of months ago and starting to slightly regret it to be honest.

I think my favorite color combo is the rather rare green bezel, white dial GMT. I can’t even find it in the archives. The red bezel, white dial is a good looking combo, too.
