Someone on TZ-UK emailed CW to ask about the misaligned printing. :)

He has had a reply.

Well I suppose at least they seemed to admit, in the reply as stated in the other thread, that there is an error on the dial. :)

Still that was a bit obvious to (almost) anyone!

. . .. and in years to come anyone with a left-field 1st production run watch will have a rarity to it.

Perhaps?

Anyone else curious as to how this watch would look on a beads of rice bracelet? I’d really like to see that.

Yep, was thinking the same thing!

Also, what other colour dials might be in the pipeline?

Maybe the mis-aligned text will be less of an issue than it appears to be for some?

As I said earlier, it’s so small that it really is just a line of colour in an otherwise busy dial. Yes, it shouldn’t happen in a £1000 watch but it isn’t as big a deal as some are making out. I suspect some of the loudest detractors wouldn’t have bought one anyway?
Mistakes happen. It’s how CW handle it that is the test here!

That is a fair point Steve. It is easy to forget we are looking at greatly magnified images that will make things look very much worse than in real life. At least they said they will correct it in future batches.

I am not sure which is worse. Not seeing the mistake at all or knowing about it but continuing on as normal.

How can they work on a watch so long, shoot marketing campaigns, handle and check the units and not notice the error? If is even on the front of Loupe to see without any difficulty! Customers may not look closely under magnification or study every detail but I expect CW do, and should. If not, what else is missed?

If it has been identified and then released anyway that in my opinion is letting the customer down. Will they make clear when the new batch is released so that people who do want to buy one can do in confidence that it is correct?

Would I buy one? I like the watch, but no. I just don't have the same trust in the brand as I did 2-3 years ago and despite some brilliant releases they appear to spend more time on spin and nonsense than treating the customer as number one. Instances like this are frustrating as I genuinely wish they did not happen so that my faith in CW can be restored to where it once was and I can spend a reasonable amount of money on an item without thinking it is likely to cause a headache.
