When I slip the watch and bracelet on my wrist I see myself arriving at an airport of long ago, an aerodrome quite possibly, and taking a seat in a long silver cigar tube with four socking great propellers on the wings and my choice of watch bracelet is a nod to those long and slender shiny wings.
Careful Pete.

You're getting carried away, or maybe you've been reading too much marketing blurb recently.

I know I advocated . . . .
.
.
bracelet, bracelet, bracelet, . .
.
.
. . . but it actually looks pretty decent on a CW Blue Cordovan.

For now I 'm using the black hybrid that I picked up on eBay. I'm a fan of the original CW, so I'm content until I have the bracelet resized (No rush).

I have a C65 Trident Classic LE, (the blue one, beautiful), and I have found that it works on a variety of straps depending on the occasion: Buckingham Palace garden party - brown leather. Returning the one, true ring to Mordor - grey nato etc. Be flexible and don't be bound by convention. (Unless you're going to a Buckingham Palace garden party. Anybody else fancy Kate? Just me?).

....Buckingham Palace garden party - brown leather.
You can’t just lob that out there and leave it hanging.

I find I need the durability of a dragon scale strap when venturing into Mordor.

Dragon scale would be okay going into Mordor. Don’t take it into Cthol Mishrak, though. It acts like an aphrodisiac on the Hounds, and the consequences could be very unpleasant. Wear a plain grey NATO to stay under the radar.

I did once lob it out and leave it hanging at a Buckingham Palace garden party.
Nobody minded, in fact everyone seemed very impressed.
As I recall Kate and Pippa were particularly interested.
Then I was asked to leave.

I reached the full extent of my knowledge of Tolkien & fantasy literature with my initial comment. I’ve got nothing to come back with other than I do like a good NATO.

Phew, it’s a good job I was talking about Eddings, then!

Haha! I’ve edited my comment to broaden its scope accordingly.

You will be looking for the one watch soon. One watch to rule them all.

Well, Bhelliom Blue-Rose is up for grabs again. Or you could get an alethiometer and pretend it’s a watch.
