Stem came off from my 595

Post by kidevil »

This morning I picked up the 595 as I like wearing it for work even when I am at home. I wound the watch around 18 times and went on to pull the crown for adjusting time as it had been lying in the watch box over the weekend. As I pulled the crown out I did not feel the normal resistance as I would and the entire crown with the stem attached just came out! I reinserted the stem and pulled it again. It came out again. It seems the locking mechanism for the stem is broken. I know the service and repair centre is now closed due to Covid. Any idea when they will likely come back?

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with their CW watches?

Sorry to hear of your problem. Potentially, can happen to anyone, with any watch at anytime.

Happened once to me, some years ago, CW C11 Makaira Pro. Unscrewed the crown to change/set the date/time. Crown dropped into the palm of my hand.

CW repaired it at a very reasonable cost. Not a warranty item.

Good luck.

Thanks for that. I will get in touch with CW as soon as the service centre starts taking orders.

Just an update. The watch came back from CW working as good as if not better than new. The winding feels smoother than before.
