Inmates able to browse forums to shop for watches, wow :)

To the OP, there was a guy on the forums who had a great thread about oil filling a Kingfisher, it inspired me to oil fill a bunch of quartz watches I have (non CW). Would love to try that on a Kingfisher.
Great thread like this one Liquid filled watch case: How I modified my Kingfisher C6?

Yes that’s it, I ended up emailing with that guy and discussing alternative liquids - very nice person.

I still have my two - my first CW was a yellow Quartz C6 which has had daily use for at least 6 of the last 10 (?) years since I bought it. The second arrived recently which was one I've wanted for a long time but either couldn't afford or couldn't justify:

(This is the one Guy mentioned earlier)

I've an awful lot of love for the Kingfishers. They're still quite unique with the bezel design (I love the trident Mk3 and really want one, but there's no denying the bezel isn't massively different from many other dive watches), and they're all fabulously colourful. The dials shine in a fantastic way that I love staring at. Plus as someone who now works near or on the water they are well suited to my daily life. (Don't worry - when I'm doing more strenuous stuff around water like sailing myself a cheaper Casio is the stand-in!)

In fact, it's the fact that they've been so reliable that I haven't yet got a replacement! (Though the orange one will be off to CW towers when they reopen, for a service) I keep having to talk myself out of sourcing other colours - Gaf's photos of his box of many of them is fantastic.

Why aren't there so many now? I guess all the points have already been touched on above. A shorter run than the C60 has had in any of its iterations, and they are getting on a bit too. Even I wonder if people here are still interested in seeing them anymore which is one reason why I rarely post them in CWL of the day even though I'm often wearing them. I'm impressed at how they've held their value though (actually my quartz seems to have appreciated if eBay sales are any guidance).

Just for balance:

(though it's now on a rubber CW strap! Next thing for me to hunt down is a bracelet)

I know where one of them went it's in my watch box. The T3 limited addition model. Just can't help thinking, why the hell did they put a deployment clasp on a diver?

Great point, a question I regularly lob at poor old Ferg on a regular basis.
It just shows true fans of the brand appreciate the history of CW which is obviously found regularly on here, and not so much on FB.
Incidently, it was one of my favourite CW and still miss it

No automatic blue limited editions ones?

I thought that was the best Kingfisher and I think it was the very first Forum limited edition.

I had one but sold it for around £250. I wonder what one would go for today?

I’ve got to be honest, I’ve never much cared for the looks of the Kingfisher....until that pic, Kip! That’s a beauty!
