C60 Apex LE: has anti-shock system?
Dear members,
Can you please advise whether C60 Apex Limited Edition has anti-shock system?
I could not locate this information on: https://www.christopherward.co.uk/c60-a ... -edition-3
Thanks all,
Korn

SH21 was designed to be robust and long lasting so it certainly does have shock protection but as to detail, so far I have not seen it published.
Anecdotally, I have an SH21 based C8PR, utterly reliable in the two years I have had it and runs less than 1s fast on a daily basis, the most accurate watch I have.

The C60 APex Limited Edition and the C65 Trident SH21 Limited Edition use esssentialy the same movement. The only difference is the C60 is a central second hand and the C65 is a small seconds dial. Both use the Incabloc shock system.

I knew that there was a shock system called Incabloc but I had no idea what it was.

It could mean that it doesn't have a branded anti-shock system. Seiko Durashock and ETA Incablock are both patented, branded systems.....
It could also mean that the movement is completely vulnerable to getting bumped....

Re: C60 Apex LE: has anti-shock system?
This is a picture from the website of the shock absorbing system built into nearly all modern mechanical watches made since WWII, including the Apex. The gold colored clip holding the jewel in place allows the balance staff to move a slight amount in the case of a hard shock, preventing the balance staff from being damaged or bent. A more concise description can be had through our friend Mr. Google. The same basic principle as incablock and others, but the name is patented.

Many thanks Dwight.
We can conclude that C60 Apex has the anti-shock component.
Should we let CW know? Hence CW team will add "anti-shock system" on the websites and Owner's Handbooks for next Apex launches.
(I noticed that C7 Apex did not state anti-shock system in the Owner's Handbook as well)

Re: C60 Apex LE: has anti-shock system?
I can't say for sure why this was left out of the description of the Apex. I'm quite sure it has been mentioned in descriptions of other models. An oversight for sure, but a feature so common in modern watchmaking an easy mistake. Here is a picture of a balance staff jewel without the shock absorbing clip from an old JLC.

Re: C60 Apex LE: has anti-shock system?
I wonder whether it’s one of those things where we tend to assume that quality watches will have shock protection?
Back in the old days when it was a new thing, watches carried statements like INCABLOC ANTICHOC on the dial. They don’t any more.
In the same way all early 70s quartz watches said QUARTZ on the dial. They sure don’t now!

Heap thanks Steve.
I'd like to see consistency of CW in making public information, especially Apex line.
I checked C65 Diver SH21 and C65 Bronze Ombre. They both state anti-shock system in both websites and Owner's Handbook.
