Quartz

Post by manicm »

I think a new quartz Rapide is needed. It won't need such an expensive casing but can return to its roots. The Mk1 was really elegant - they could refine this for the modern era.

From the CW GTG in 2019, they will be exiting the quartz watch business.....so I'd grab a C7 Rapide Quartz in the sale if you'd like one
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy

Quartz has its place, but that place is utility. Art and therefore emotive, it is not.

No. A fine piece of electronic engineering requires no less creativity and mastery of craft than a mechanical movement.

A Sellita SW200 is just as much a mass market commodity as a Seiko quartz movement.

I beg to differ.

Ahhh, there you have me. A true engineering marvel, there has to be an exception to every "rule".
