C65 Anthropocene arrived!

Post by SlayedDreamer »

We’ve had a surprise spring snowstorm here in central canada for the past two days, and with great timing, my new C65 arrived today as I was digging out of the snow!
This is the largest diameter watch I own, at 41mm I was slightly worried how it would look on my small 6.75” wrists. Turns out it wears perfectly, with the curved lugs nicely hugging my wrist. No protruding or overhanging of the lugs like with some other 40mm watches I have owned.
I opted for the vintage oak leather band, and it feels very soft and not stiff at all even fresh out of the box.
The white dial is very striking and quite bold on the wrist! Build quality of this watch is excellent and feels fairly substantial but not overly heavy on the wrist.
Overall I am super pleased with this watch!

Congratulations on your new acquisition. How about a picture of it on the snow for comparison? 😀

The camel strap goes really well with the GMT hand. I'm envious; Mrs. O thinks I have already spent my watch budget for the year :)

Great piece! Those look better everytime I see one. Not so great to see the snow however. Probably the same storm I just finished digging out from. Not terrible but it is April after all.
Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

Absolutely superb!
I’ve always loved the white dial watches. The colour combinations within your time piece, work brilliantly together, strap included.

Lovely watch indeed, with the perfect backdrop to your photo to show it off to great effect.

Thanks for the kind comments :)
I was agonizing over which band to choose, and it came down to the vintage oak or the hybrid strap.
Ultimately I chose the vintage oak because I was worried the hybrid one would pick up much lint and also there were reports it was stiff.
I am very pleased with my choice, the leather strap was much nicer than I had expected! I might order a backup strap in the future.

Your fears are partially founded as the black/orange hybrid strap currently available is the original, slightly stiff, version; not the newer thinner, more flexible version.

However, the rubber used on the strap is not silicone and is not prone to lint pickup.

I had the same concern over the Mk1 hybrid but went ahead with getting one for my Abyss. Have actually found it to be ok and better than expected.
