Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
Strictly speaking these "GMT monitoring" type watches (independent 24 hour hand) are really for use in the home timezone monitoring remote time zones. You need a Rolex GMT Master type (independent hour hand) for travelling since this allows you to flip the hour hand and date to local time when you arrive. But whatho, it's a good excuse to own another watch....Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 10:54 am
I have actually been questioning whether I need a GMT watch when I go abroad anyway. Actually just knowing the local time seems more than sufficient on practically every occasion.

As it’s a slow day and I am in pedantic mode, thought I would point out that a Rolex GMT Master does not have an independent hour hand.H0rati0 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 3:12 pmStrictly speaking these "GMT monitoring" type watches (independent 24 hour hand) are really for use in the home timezone monitoring remote time zones. Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
Technically amazing watch and I'm enjoying the consistent design language of recent releases but have agree with some others - not a fan of the 24 hour ring on the dial. Gives the impression an already deep watch is even deeper and distracted from an otherwise classic watcher with a few 'pop's to keep things fresh.

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
I do indeed and I knew you knew.
I try to convince myself that when I bought my GMT Master years ago in preference to a GMT Master II it was because the non Independent hour hand on a 16700 would would make it easier to quickly set the date for a watch worn in rotation.
The real reason was that a 16700 was about 10% cheaper than a 16710.

My Rolex days are done (probably). I say that as someone who wore a Rolex as first choice for 25 years and whilst I do not own one now.....but no reason to regret a GMT Master - classic delight.nbg wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 9:14 pm

However, for travel nothing beats my Ulysse Nardin GMT±
Press the buttons for local time, including date forwards and backwards. Easy Peezy.
I admit a soft spot for a 216570 but will probably give a home to a C65 GMT if one comes up that fits my buy criteria....

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
I have bought a black version of this with the titanium bracelet as well. I am looking forward to receiving it and sharing photos in the next couple of days.
Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
It is quite a heavy watch, despite the titanium, so it is just as well it is not steel
I will take a few better shots later. It will be worn a nato for a while as they bracelet will need to be sized for me

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
But this, or the straight Elite 1000?
I'm uneasy about the fixed internal white 24-hour track. Why? Most of my GMT watches have the 24-hour external bezel aligned with 24 at the top but I like my C65 Anthropocene with the bezel aligned to my second timezone. That way the GMT pointer position is reinforced by the bezel position. Why only on this one watch? I can't say but I think it's to do with the slim bezel insert emphasised by the black background. So I'm not sure about the track having a white background; I'm not sure it speaks "quality".
Definitely on bracelet.
But black or blue?
How much uncertainty is enough?

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
Tikka, seeing as you asked, the answer for me was the Elite 1000. There's something for me about the GMT's white track which detracts from the dial aesthetics and proportions (also the GMT is a complication i do not need). I opted for the Blue Elite 1000 which fills a gap in my collection. The black was excellent (it was sent to me in error) but it was too close to others in my collection. So blue it is and i'm very happy with ittikkathree wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 12:53 pm But this, or the straight Elite 1000?

For under 2k pounds.... Not bad at all IMHO.
If it said Oris on the dial it would be $4500 EASY

Re: C60 Elite GMT 1000
£1200 with the typical 30% off is a more realistic price point imho, worth waiting for if you have patience and some luck, but it's not on my wish list.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

I don’t see these attracting 30% off unless as part of the mad scramble for one or two returns as NN. 15% off is a more likely (And accessible) discountwhat-time-is-it wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 9:21 pm £1200 with the typical 30% off is a more realistic price point imho, worth waiting for if you have patience and some luck, but it's not on my wish list.
