How often do spare parts come on the market.

Post by fantasticmrfish » Wed Mar 04, 2020 9:58 am

Hi guys and gals. How often do CW spare parts come on the market in your experience. Ultimately would love a new bezel insert and a new trident second hand but spare parts seem none exsistant for CW watches.

Cheers
Shaun

Welcome to the forum.

The parts you are asking for are only available (hopefully) direct from CW, and they will only sell them to you if you get them to supply and fit them to your watch i.e. you will need to send it in to them for a repair.

Alternatively, you might find a scruffy watch on the second hand market i.e. eBay and the like, which you could then cannibalise for spares (but that would be a waste of a good watch if spares are available new from CW).

Next step? Complete the Service and Repairs Request Form on CW's website.

Ahhhh that explains why I can't find any parts 😜

Shame about having to send it to CW because tinkering is half the fun. I shall look into the online form. Thanks for the speedy response.

I think CW also have a “like-for-like” fitting policy for their parts.

A while back I asked if I could have a matte black ceramic bezel insert and stainless steel bezel ring fitted to a bronze C60. I also asked for the dial to be swapped for the matte black off the C60 Vintage diver. Although I was told that all my chosen parts would be a direct swap and were perfectly comparable I was advised that it would not be considered as there were not like-for-like. My only solution would have been to buy both models as donor watches and either do the swap myself (eeeeek!) or have a local watch repairer do it. Either way the 60/60 warranty would no longer be honoured.

This was a while back, I don’t know if their policy still holds or not.

The only spare parts I have ever seen listed on eBay were some bracelet links.

As the warranty is for movement only, a bezel swap should not impact the warranty in any way.
