Accuracy

Post by heffergm »

Curious what kind of drift people are generally seeing on their Selitta SW200-1 watches (C60, etc).

I've got two, one seems to generally be around +5, the other around +8 per day. Seem normal?

Official figures are +20/-20 per day...so yes, that's very much within spec

That's in spec, most report less than +10 SPD

If it's not what you like, the Selitta movement is easily regualted.

My C60 Mk 2.5 seems to be about + 7 seconds per day if left face up overnight. It runs about + 10 seconds per day if left crown down overnight. CW tend to do a good job of regulating the watches before sale.

more concerned about the Sellita-200 propensity to suffer from Manual Wind problems - I have 4 in for repair now - all less than 3 years old & only used in rotation monthly ...

Wasn't that the SW200, not the SW200-1 in all the latest stuff? I could be wrong...

My Trident has gone about +20 in total over the past two and a bit days so probably +8/day or so which seems entirely in line with the guys above.

I only have one SW200-1 these days, though I own other CW watches with different movements. This one (my C5) runs about +8s/d, though this can vary with patterns of wear and resting.

I tend to know the rate of my watches, though I’ve never used a Timegrapher or other device - a RC or iPhone clock (or time.is) is good enough. I adjust for the rate when setting a watch and then I know it’s good for a few days.

I used to stress about accuracy but I don’t worry these days. If it points to the right minute that’s fine.

...and I have one in for repair under warranty (C60 Trident 316L Black and Yellow) and just found another (C60 Trident 316L Blue and Orange) with the symptoms which will have to be returned.

The other 2 C60 Trident 316Ls (Orange; Yellow) are fine, so its a bit hit and miss.

I bought a C65 Trident Vintage MK2, pretty much when they first launched, and it has been a real gem. Smarter aesthetics than many of my other CW offerings (especially when worn on its black, Shell Cordovan strap) and has been regularly used for when I need something a bit more refined than my regular tool/diver options.

Accuracy is outstanding. If I wear it for a day or so it averages about +3sec a day. When I keep it in my watch winder it averages about -4sec a day. It is not COSC certified, but only my lovely Dartmouth and Sandhurst models perform anywhere near close.
