I've stared at that specific Grand Tourer so many times. The green is quite striking and it has a classy dial that packs everything neat. That would obviously be my pick.

I own the green C3 and the blue dialled Farer Ainsdale and while they’re quite different watches, each with their own appeal, I would go with the Farer.

While both are quartz movements, the Farer has a much higher class of movement than the C3 does. Build quality is very good on both; the Farer is fractionally larger and heavier - something emphasised by the fitted bracelet, something which incidentally the CW does not offer.

Unlike Richard, I think that Farer typically provide just the right number of colours... :) and I find that I wear the Ainsdale more than I do the C3. The CW has more polished surfaces than the mostly brushed Farer; the CW has a slightly domed sapphire, the Farer has a box sapphire.

Either one is a good choice and IMO it comes down to which one you prefer the look of. I think it’s as simple as that...

Excuse the dust in the following pics; I just pulled them out of their boxes to take the shots...

I think I'm with Richard on the colours, though perhaps for a different reason.

The more I look at the Farer watches the more I realise it isn't the number of colours that makes me feel uneasy, but the combinations. To my eye some of them don't sit well together. And the bronze (?) crown? It's like making a Bakewell tart and putting an olive on top.

Hmm, lemme see.
Farer: blue, orange, yellow, white. 4 colours...
CW: green, white, black, red. 4 colours...

Unless... I have it. Black is not a colour. Dada.

Those Farer watches look great, but I agree that they tend to have one color thrown in there somewhere that doesn't fit. That Pendine didn't look great when I first saw it, but it's growing on me. Not a huge fan of the mint green though...

It certainly adds to the Farer that there is a bracelet available for it.

I have a blue Grand Tourer and I’m a big fan of the design, although it is lighter than expected and, coupled with the fact it’s a quartz, means it does feel a bit cheaper than the other CWs I’ve tried.

It would be a considerable bargain over the Farer though, particularly if you’re able to pick one up in the Nearly New section in the near future.
