CW hints at what's new in 2020
I just received a "Happy New Year" email from CW with a link to their new blog post. At the end of the blog they have a hint as to what is going to be new in 2020. What better way to start the New Year than speculating as to what is coming. It looks like a new elite will be released in February, and chronographs are on their way. What do members think they mean by "We're reviving an old technology for a new release"?
Let the speculating begin

A chronograph for sure and a Elite diver... Hopefully it's Titanium.

That would be a cool release. Make it a panda dial or reverse panda and I could be very interested.

I head that at the London GTG it was mentioned that a black dial/patina lume version of the Dartmouth would be on the cards. I seriously hope that coms out.
My other guesses will be more models based on retro/vintage designs.

A new Elite + old tech. Maybe a Super Compressor cased Elite?

One thing I’d love to see would be an Explorer model. How about the existing C65 Trident Vintage MK2 light catcher case but with a “3-6-9” dial - numerals at these positions, a triangle at 12 and batons at the rest. 38mm size would be a nice size, fixed bezel would be perfect but the hands would need some thought.
Ok, that would be old aesthetics, not old tech, but it would certainly make me reach for my wallet!

Maybe some of our Draughtsman friends could photoshop a mock up?

CW is moving away from homages, and trying to create their own design language. While your design sounds nice, I think it would be more in the Steinhart wheelhouse.Jcalder68 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 10:18 pm One thing I’d love to see would be an Explorer model. Yep, and a good thing too IMO. Bit by bit it appears they are finding their own way.
