First week of ownership..

Post by Frighty » Wed Dec 18, 2019 1:58 pm

Hi all,
Just thought I’d post my thoughts after my first week of ownership my C60. I thought about calling the post subject ‘a week on the wrist’ but thought better of it
Still besotted with the watch. It’s not only my first CWL watch but also my first mechanical watch. I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch for years and although it still has a place, I can’t see me wearing it anywhere but the gym in the future. If I get my arse in gear a go that is.
I love the weight of the watch. I was worried 42mm might be too large but actually it’s perfect for my wrist size.
The micro adjustment on the bracelet is excellent and gets more use than I thought..
It keeps good time, it tends to gain a few seconds a day, but it loses them over night so in the morning we’re pretty much bob on. I’ve adjusted it once using the movement hacking where it was still a little out in the morning.
I still can’t believe I got it for the price I did from the NN section, it is immaculate. I’ll definitely be looking there again in future. Obviously I need a GMT watch because of reasons.
I’ll be trying a few different straps soon enough so pictures will follow.
All in all I’m a happy camper.

Yep, you’re a WIS. That has always been my excuse too.

Nice review, pics would be good.

And yes, the adjustable clasp gets a lot of use - just wait until summer.
The half minute which we daily devote to the winding-up of our watches is an exertion of labour almost insensible; yet, by the aid of a few wheels, its effect is spread over the whole twenty-four hours.

Welcome to the asylum. It's great to hear that you're enjoying your C60. You'll probably get used to the habit of not adjusting the watch too frequently. I tend to let mine go until they are a minute or so out of line and then adjust. It makes life much easier for me and the watch.
Let us know how your experiments with different straps go.

Congrats on your C60 and that you're thrilled with it! Lots of other great CW watches to select from for mechanical #2!
Small collection of timepieces that I enjoy
