Two posts on General Discussion today - is this a new record?
I know i'm raking over the coals of the occasionally raised forum-health topic, but only two posts on 'General Discussion' today is the lowest I've seen on my time on the forum. Whilst there has occasionally been debate on the forum membership, absense of long-serving members, frequency of posting etc etc, this seems to be the quietest day of all.
Mods - any thoughts or observations on this?

I tend not to take notice of which forum posts occur in, during the course of a day.
Whilst there's not a huge amount going on today, maybe everyone is Christmas shopping, Office party or whatever, there's still a reasonable amount on the forum as a whole.
PS - activity usually picks up in the evening.

Thanks Guy, i get that. However, the number today (so far) and trend generally are very low - hence my comment

Before this new topic/post there was nothing I wanted to post about. Thank you for giving me the excuse to move my total number of posts closer to 1,000

Got it Albion! Glad to assist. Equally, i never thought there would be a day when i made >50% of the General Discussion posts in a day (so far)!

Things are quiet at the moment (I lament it also) but sometimes it just is that way. I am not making much contribution myself, not feeling moved by what IS going on. But I have had spells of that before and it is a funny time of year as Guy mentioned.

On my end, I am just checking on the clearance section daily until I get the exact Trident I want!
Otherwise, it's Christmas shopping and holiday crap as usual. Also, I'm getting ready to move. So busy and tired I haven't even opened my new C65 yet. Shame!

I think it is maybe a time when people are naturally focused on other things. The build-up to Christmas seems to start earlier and earlier and to become more and more stressful for a lot of people.
I’m sure that interest will pick up again when people have a little time off, and also when the always much-anticipated sale kicks in.

I was thinking how quiet it was and how few subjects of real interest for a few days now.
That said, if no one else in the room is saying much... best way to liven proceedings is start the conversation and hope others will join in..
Oh, I see what you did now

And I think that’s the point Soporsche. Today is just an example, but the activity has slowed. I know people are out shopping/lunching/ carol singing/ throwing snowballs etc etc but the broader trend is it’s definitely getting quieter and i’ve Been around here long enough to see it!Soporsche wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 11:14 pm I was thinking how quiet it was and how few subjects of real interest for a few days now.

While we may be experiencing a few slow days, this is not uncommon. Most certainly not uncommon at this time of year. Overall forum usage and visits are up considerably this year over last.

Personally I’ve been too busy with work and social life this past week and next few days with just the odd quick look at the forum but no time to post anything meaningful.
