When will I get my watch?

Post by Gasman »

I ordered and paid for a watch from CW clearance last week. Received my confirmation email and nothing since. I have emailed them with no response, how long does it usually take to get the watch?

I ordered one, but credit card not yet charged until despatch. Nothing as yet other than email confirmation.

Did you pay via PayPal, if so, then payment is taken immediately on order.

I've just rung them (as an experiment) and got through within 40 seconds.

Maybe now's a good time to ring.

That's the system.

PayPal - payment taken immediately. Dispatch in due course.

Credit / Debit card - authorisation put against card on order, but payment only taken upon dispatch.

To answer your principal question, from anecdotal evidence on here and the CWE group, dispatch for a standard order i.e. not next day, seems to be taking 5 - 10 working days.

I suffered from a moment of madness and bought a Trident Elite on the 11th - it arrived yesterday. No updates, no phone calls, just slow - and faulty.
Current collection incl Citizen, G-Shock, Rolex, Seiko, Sinn & Tag.

I have received a watch from our upside down friend Gary in less time than this! There is absolutely no excuse for this. I have bought comfortably over a zillion watches and as far as I recall they are all despatched same day or next day. The only watches when this has not happened have been from (yes you guessed it) CW.

Come on chaps, sort it out. You are making even the easy stuff look difficult!
FS zenith Chronomaster Original and Bremont Solo or trade for 5 digit Sub.

I ordered a C65 Black and Gold by phone this morning. Whilst I was talking to Katie, I could hear another CW CS person taking an order in the background. She clearly stated, to that other customer, that the current despatch time was two weeks. So Guy's statement above, derived from practical experience is what is now being stated directly to customers.

On a side note...
CW seem to use despatch whilst my American colleagues would use dispatch.
http://www.differencebetween.net/langua ... -dispatch/
Personally if the OED says that despatch is correct then that's what I'm going with.

I’ve ordered a new hybrid strap last week and a c65 in the sale Monday night .
If you email order@christopherward I dont get a response. But I’m now trying customer@ as I think that’s a monitored.

Cheers

My latest order has been 28 days, yes that’s 4 weeks, and has .. still .. not .. shipped. I’m starting to run out of patience.

On the plus side, I did receive notification that my Dartmouth has been shipped...

I agree, I too received a watch from Gary in less than a week. Plus when buying in a sale from other sites the delivery is still very often next day.

I ordered a sale Seiko for my wife, obviously NOS as battery wasn’t working. Rang up, guy said he’d check another, put a new battery in (just in cases). Sent same day, with returns packaging for other one. So that’s 2 watches sent and delivered in less time than I get despatch notification from CW. That’s CS for you.

Not too bothered about when I get my CW as it was a bit of an impulse buy, but it really is too much sometimes. Not even sure they’re embarrassed about poor CS etc anymore.

It’s a bit like watching Newcastle under Steve Bruce, dire and not much prospect of an improvement.

Hello,

Chiming in with a first post in this forum. Ordered my C60 Trident (my first automatic watch!) on 16th, sent them an e-mail on 22nd asking what's the hold up. They answered that they are having delays and would despatch next week (this week). However, I expressed my disappointment on the morning of 24th via e-mail and received my watch next day. I guess being a tough customer helps at times.
