FLE #8 Design Vote

Post by Kip »

The time has come for us to reduce our possibilities down to the ultimate favorites, so we can do our final tweaking etc. regarding dial print and case back.

Due to the amount of submissions we are going to reserve deciding on the next step until we see how this vote turns out. It is entirely possible we will have a clear winner or may narrow our choices to 3 or 4 possibilities, depending on vote count.

You will be allowed to vote for as many models as you wish, but please vote for any, and only, those that you would buy.

Please read carefully before voting.

Use of the bronze on bezels and crowns on the Dartmouth would need to be PVD to make it a viable cost option. The indexes that are shown as bronze would also be PVD and may also add a small additional cost.

For all Dartmouth designs, do not read anything specific into the illustrated strap or bracelet. Should a Dartmouth design be chosen then all the usual strap/bracelet options would be available. Date models have been excluded due to not being COSC as per original voting.

All elements are as per the standard C65 Dartmouth unless otherwise stated.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C60 models that are showing blue PVD on the bezel sides of black bezels cannot be done. They would be entirely blue or black PVD. Black or white date wheels on the C60 are standard. Any other colors would be at additional cost.

For all C60 designs, do not read anything specific into the colour of the illustrated strap. The usual strap options would be available. However, a steel bracelet would only be an option for the non-PVD steel case designs.

All designs have a Blue PVD case unless otherwise stated.

A final price for our chosen model will be offered prior to production.

Pricing;-
Current RRP is…
C60 MkIII 40mm - strap £695 ($795)
C60 MkIII 40mm - bracelet £795 ($910)
C65 Dartmouth Series 1 - strap £795 ($900/$910)
C65 Dartmouth Series 1 – bracelet £895 ($1020)

Estimated pricing for the FLE, as in previous years, will be about £75 ($100) over stock i.e.
C60 MkIII FLE - strap £770 ($895)
C60 MkIII FLE - bracelet £870 ($1,010)
C65 Dartmouth Series 1 - strap £870 ($1000/$1010)
C65 Dartmouth Series 1 – bracelet £970 ($1120)

The voting will run through Sun. Oct. 27.

You may vote for up to 30 models and may change your vote.

A pretty decent showing after 2 days of voting. With 3 days remaining I have to wonder what models will make the magic threshold of 25 votes....

Another good voting day, with #22 remaining the clear leader.

Get those votes in so we can reach the magic number required.

Agreed, but maybe not the same one as I...

I hope that everyone voting realises that they can vote for as many models as they would like, not just for one; with the only proviso being that those they vote for are ones they’d be willing to buy.

The totals at present are, to me, a little disappointing given the level of interest (and passion) previously shown.

Yeah, but that's how it is now. If this were done on Facebook you'd have reached the numbers within a day. :?

Well, it depends on the design; of course. These are a bit pricey, but when Frank mentioned that he got 25 backers of his design in a day compared to here it just rang a bell. I think that's the place to go if you want to get these things done; sadly. Seems a more engaged community. Granted, I haven't been on there in a while, but it seems this forum is getting smaller and smaller each year.

Agreed. I think too many C65 Dartmouth variants are confusing folk who didn’t read the OP in sufficient detail. :problem:

At this rate a rather weird C60 will get most votes. :(

Couldn’t have put it better Neil. Let’s just say, it was not one that I voted for.

Yes, really. We got 42 buyer votes total in 4 days for a Dartmouth - C65 GMT for our 600+ member group + a few from others who are not in the CWA group. But we only had 3 models to choose from (2 x three-hander + 1 GMT). Once we decided on the basic model, we now will give few options for color and dial details and that's about it. Just waiting for CW to get back with info about cost for the proposed GMT designs and Mike sounded positive to make it happen.

Happy for you, Frank. I'll be joining again soon to check it out! :D

I do believe Facebook and similar types are the future for social media, but smaller forums will always indeed have their place.

Following the guidance of only backing the horse you are prepared to put your money on, I only voted for the 2 I would - and thinking more about it, that's probably only the one!

I really have no interest at all in hearing about what happens on the fb page. If I had, I would go and look at it. It pops up irritatingly often enough on my fb page as a 'recommended' site.
