Boxing the C3

Post by peterh »

So... I have put the C3 I recently received back into its box.

"... huh?"

Yeah. It's actually a birthday present, and my birthday is in exactly three months.
I've taken the rather tacky gold bracelet off (that's now a surplus)

and replaced it by a slightly more tasteful reddish-brown strap

When I received it a week ago, I set it with my G-Shock as a reference, and kept tabs on it. The G-shock syncs with the atomic clock in Frankfurt every 24 hours. A week later, the C3 is around half a second fast, so it's fine -- better than I expected.

I have now pulled the crown out to save battery power, set the date to my birthday, and the time at 8 minutes past 10. Tomorrow, my wife will wrap it.

See you in 3 months, gorgeous!

You have more control than me, I wouldn’t be able to box it back up

Definitely looks better on the leather and will be mighty fine to wear in 3 months.

Great looking watch. Happy (early) birthday. Just curious - where did you find it?

You'll be like a kid at Christmas in three months time !
It looks fantastic Peter.

A couple of months ago or even more i'd say, I bought a C5 MK2 Quartz as a 60th birthday present for my work colleague for February 29th 2020.

The leather strap was a classy choice. The watch looks so much better with it. Enjoy the wait.

Danbailey007 sourced it for me, in a Cash Converter store in Telford. I specifically wanted a Mark 1, in gold, with the off-white dial, if at all possible with a brown leather strap. This one was on a gold bracelet, which was off the day after I received it.
It was a bit of a hassle, because they didn't want to send abroad (I'm in The Netherlands), but a friend in Norfolk was willing to act as a "relay agent". :D
