Think it all looks fine but for the redundant text proclaiming "5 days power". Completely unnecessary .
Time is fleeting....happy hour, doubly so.

Love this, including (and especially) the logo position.

Yes, the wording is redundant since there is a power reserve indicator. I'd like to see the word 'Chronometer' on the dial in it's place.

Excuse me!

Being an English company it would have been "Centred Logo."

I made that mistake once making a digitally altered image of a CW watch and used England on the dial... They are a 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland' company.

I suspect you are referring to my comment at the time. It's not a mistake to say they are an English company. That's fine and factually correct. Just don't put "England" on the dial if you don't want to risk irritating some people from other parts of the UK. Two different issues. :)

^^ that doesn't make any sense at all.

Let's just say they are a European company to stay on the safe side and not offend anyone. Nobody really understands the difference between the UK, England and Great Britain outside of your island anyways..

Why? Scottish companies put Scotland, Welsh put Wales, so why do English have to use British for fear of upsetting someone. Why would a Scot or Welshman, for example, get irritated that an English company uses England? I’m English, not British, and if that upsets some people that I class myself as English then tough. The world and its snowflake generation is getting beyond Ridiculous.

Let’s go further and include the Commonwealth while we’re at it, just in case, after all our Queen isn’t just ours, she’s Queen of the Commonwealth. But, that then flags up that England doesn’t have its own National Anthem too! Let’s liven this forum up debating that one

People outside of the UK don't need to understand. Unless they attempt to start designing watch dials for UK companies.

Chris, I think you missed the point. Companies can put whatever they want on their watch dials. But if that "something", whatever it is, would irritate or alienate enough of its potential customer base, then they may not want to do it - even if the reason that it irritates or alienates its potential customers is completely irrational or illogical.

We see time and again that it doesn't take much to put watch buyers off a watch, e.g. logo placement, push-in crown rather than screw-in, dial colour, lume colour, whether the seconds hand has red on it or whether that includes the "lollipop" or not, etc etc. It doesn't matter whether you agree with the reasons or not, the more elements that give people the opportunity to say "no" to themselves, the fewer watches you'll sell. And if you're a UK company, putting "England", "Wales", "Scotland", "Northern Ireland", etc on the dial is more divisive than putting "UK" or "Great Britain".

It's probably why CW don't put either on the dial. The issue was only sparked by an unofficial mock-up by Frank.

Anyway, we have rather gone off-topic for this thread! Maybe start a new thread if you want to discuss this in detail.

Frank I think you will find there are plenty of folk in the UK who don’t understand the relationship between the UK, Great Britain and the British Isles. :)

If the watch is a winner, It’s English.

If the watch is a loser, it’s Scottish.
