I haven’t said much up until now, but I will chuck this in for what it is worth.

I said at the start that I wasn’t in. I am one of what I suspect is a growing number of people who are coming to the realisation that they simply have too many watches and are looking to offload rather than to continue acquiring.

With that in mind it would have taken something pretty special to arouse my interest in this FLE. I think the blue PVD case and the transparent dial were exciting ideas that had a lot going for them. I might well have been interested.

Agreed 100% Steve. However, my other thoughts regarding how the final choices have come about should, maybe, be kept under wraps as it will probably upset a few.
Speak your mind I say Chris. It is a forum after all.

How do we improve the process if we don't give our opinions on what could/should be done differently?

Edit: Before anyone might quote what I said, I’ve removed it. I can only see it leading to arguments and so I’m ‘self moderating’ before it does.

Well, I have a better understanding now. As a lightly active member, I happened to drop in when the last three were up and was unaware of went on before. Design by committee is always a tough one. No sleep will be lost if it isn’t produced but I’ll buy one if it is.

I'm glad I stayed up late last night, your original post made for some interesting reading and clearly the comments you made were directed at me.

I have tried my best to help out with the Photoshop work on this FLE, unfortunately with my limited skills and free time (I work 6 days a week) I simply couldn't fulfill every single request for the changes everybody was asking for, I done the best I could.

The vast majority of renders I posted were at the request of other members here, sure I added my own few ideas in along the way, just like everyone else was. At the end of the day it takes a majority to make this happen, you can't force someone to like something. I really wanted the orange accents from the start and I can't see that on any of the final options so can't see how you think I have be steering the designs towards something I wanted. BTW The black second hand wasn't my idea.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, my only advice to you is if your going to call someone out on a forum please use their name and leave the original post for all to see.

Hope you have a great day

Okay, chaps, perhaps best to leave it there and concentrate once more on the substantive topic.

I have no idea what Chris actually deleted there, but probably best to say let’s move on.

Possibly I’m a little to blame here for expressing my thoughts in the way I did, but clearly the vast majority of people who are interested in this concept don’t agree with me. Fair enough, and as I said above I really hope that we get to the stage of producing a watch that you will all be delighted with. Just not my thing.

These processes always slightly take on a life of their own as people chip in with suggestions and photoshop images. And inevitably, as a popular design begins to take shape, there will be features that force some people to declare themselves out of the running. And we should all give credit for the excellent and tireless work done on the images.

Perhaps those of us who are not interested should now take a step back and let those who are interested get on with it. Again, sorry if I stirred things up!

Horses for courses, innit. I agree the smoked dial and blue PVD were novel and certainly unique. The problem I (and I suspect others) have is that, while I recognise that, I just wouldn't wear either of those and I wouldn't be prepared to drop that amount of coin on something I wouldn't wear.

In some ways, middle of the road is inevitable to get the numbers (though personally I think the finals designs have a lot going for them).

Hopefully, Steve, one of the new CWs just released take your interest instead. They're all very nice I think - At-least the ones that don't make you take up a second mortgage!

I do believe the FLE is going to look really rich in the flesh. The photoshops here are going to look pretty dull come next year.

Done and dusted as far as I am concerned.

ATM it seems a straight up tie between #3 & #5, sure going to be a real close race in the final round between. I just hope at least one of them gets the minimum 25 votes needed to make this go further.

Very fair points, and I completely understand the need to have something that people will wear. There may be a grain of truth or two in what you say about the middle of the road idea as well. The last few FLEs have been interesting but reasonably safe. The last one that was really out there in terms of being that radical was the C9. Though to be fair the two C60s, scooter and jag, have become classics.

Not really, Joe. I said earlier that I’m really looking to downsize so it would have to be something pretty special to grab my attention. A couple of really nice ones there but nothing that either leaps out at me or doesn’t duplicate to some extent what I already have.

Yes, I understand. One of these days I'm probably gonna sell most of my CWs and finally grab that Rolex (Sub or Explorer) I've always dreamed of. CW can get me to spend my money but only to a limit. This FLE fits my ratio right now and I'm dying to see the new Trident in the flesh!

Looks like it may depend on the 11 that voted for #4 if we have another vote between 3 & 5.

The 11 who voted for #4 will have also voted for #3 and/or #5 in this poll if they were willing to buy them, or not voted for #3 and #5 if they were not willing to buy them. No switching of votes is required. And another poll of just #3 and #5 would tell us the same answer, if everyone followed the instructions correctly for this poll.

It's time for us to think about what to do next given that none of the options reached the magic 25 level.
