Christopher Ward Womans Watch?

Post by grunz7 » Fri Aug 23, 2019 10:38 am

Sorry if that question has been asked before - a quick search did not bring any answers though ...

Are there any plans for CW to release a woman watch?

I discovered CW when I was searching for a watch for my girlfriend (ended up buying a Sinn 456 on a bracelet, very nice watch) and would be quite interested what CW would come up with for a woman watch. Not sure if there is enough market for a brand like CW in the woman sector but I guess I'm not the only one looking for watches as a present ...

Cheers

There used to be a range of women’s watches by CW. A quick glance at the CW Archive will show you.

Unfortunately, these were discontinued a few years ago, and there are currently no plans to re-introduce any watches specifically for women. Having said that, many of the watches currently on offer have distinct unisex possibilities and qualities.

Thanks for the link to the CW Archive - and there are quite some nice woman watches, but sofar I haven't seen any of them used out there. Which is propably a good sign that woman keep on to them. I will keep my eyes out for them.

The really interesting one was the W90/900 Belisama which was the only women’s automatic ever produced, and as you can see had some Cartier Tank features. Some of us were rather hoping that it would lead to a larger and more masculine version, but sadly that never happened.

I do think it’s a shame that they discontinued the women’s range, although I do understand and appreciate the reasons why. The new archive shows off a great range of watches for women. My personal favourite, and one I would like to get my hands on for our lass, is the R30 Constance Deco

Only needs a battery, some springbars and a strap, and Mrs D's Christmas present is sorted. I'm sure she won't remember receiving it last time.

Haha, I felt guilty just writing the post, never mind actually doing it.

Quite a few of the current / old watches were fine for women to wear too. I'm thinking the 38mm Trident and older C50, especially given the trend for chunky cases and larger dials that women seem to be wearing over the last few years.
CW C8 World Timer | C9 5-Day | C11 Extreme | C40 Speedhawk | C60 Pro 600 (x3)
Marc & Sons MSD-046 Yellow
Oris WilliamsF1 Day Date 2004
Scurfa Diver One
Seiko 5 Sports Auto Orange
Tag F1 Panda

Too many watches, not enough time :(

My wife, having seen my recent purchases of the C60 Tridents, would absolutely love to have the opportunity of purchasing a smaller version aimed at those women who prefer a smaller case size, and definitely smaller than the stock 38mm size.

Unfortunately for her, the option does not exist.
Fortunately for me, it has saved me a pile of cash.

Craig

There are often some of the women's CW's on eBay, if you keep a look out there. Obviously used rather than new but often they are in decent condition plus are mainly quartz so not a lot to go wrong.
