C60 Apex Limited Edition

Post by what-time-is-it »

Just received a preview brochure in the post this morning.

For reservations go to https://www.christopherward.co.uk/c60-apex/ which is currently a dead link.

Good luck to those that buy, but not for me until they get their house in order especially at the price that this is going to be sold at.

The site is back up now.

That’s probably supposed to be:
GBP3495
EUR3990
USD4370

Unclear exactly form the site...

Beautiful watch but that’s a hefty price!

Is it a titanium case? I guess it is, probably the same as the recent Elite, but doesn’t seem to confirm that anywhere...

Also surprised by the 300m WR in combination with a He valve... that’s usually reserved for higher WR model?

It really is a nice watch...

This speaks to me more than the previous Apex models, and while the price tag is hefty (1/6 more than previous versions), everything is relative. Not for me, but there will be folks out there who are comparing to offering from other houses (Richard Mille springs to mind) and will regard these as coming in at the value end of the market. Previous Apex models have sold out I believe.

I understand this is a 'special' piece - but generally speaking with CW's - they are good value at 50% off RRP
Even at 50% off this would still be £1747.

Great if you love the piece and will never sell it, a financial mistake if you ever want to move it on or trade it in imho.

There are very few new watches out there that are likely to realise a profit at resale down the line, Chris. Most of them are from one company, but we know all about that.

A handsome and strikingly original watch for sure, and I have no doubt that it will sell. It doesn’t shake my conviction that I have finished buying watches for some time to come.

Did Armin Strom have any influence on the C7 Apex?

I can't remember any mention of it, but if not, it's difficult to see where they came into play here.

Apart from a few details, it's pretty much the same "dial". Not a bad thing btw, but they've made a little noise about collaborating with AS on this particular model.

I guess the back could have a radically different look though.

Not for one second comparing this with a Rolex Steve - I'm probably less bullish than some on here due to a significant deterioration of the CW service, QC and support in the last 12 mths. If they were firing on all cylinders and consistently providing a premium service then I would been more positive. Far too expensive (irrespective of resale value) and if you are going to charge premium prices, you need to be able to provide premium customer service and support too.

You will have to be a very committed and determined cw collector to spend this kind of money on a cw watch no matter how nice it looks. you are up against an awful lot of competition at £3.5k! Will there be a 100% guarantee that these will be serviceable and parts available for the next 10 or 20 years?
Nice looking watch by the way.

Looks like it's a steel case from the caseback photos and chunkier crown.

From the back it's looks stunning but im not too fussed on the front dial. Pretty much same colour way as the titanium elite and I prefer that and the savings in price.

I am surprised that no one has mentioned the power reserve indicator.

Now here's a thing. I have been on the "Reserve list" for this watch for several months with a serial number that matches my C7 Apex. Do I have to go through this again and see if I'm lucky enough to capture my already reserved number?
Just for Kip - I like the Power Reserve Indicator.

Wow. £££££££££

Even if I liked the watch which I don’t, not at all attractive, and the QC/CS were up to it I certainly wouldn’t buy a CW for that price. Just wow.
