Although I can’t tell the difference between them!
One has a border round the date window, the other doesn’t.
Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

Ah but will it?
The 40mm standard Trident is a "pilot" for CW to see how popular that size is in sales volume and if it is popular they would create other versions. As far as I'm aware CW have not been specific about whether that means just other dial colours in the standard Trident or doing a GMT in 40mm also or how many sales would make the 40mm enough of a success to expand its model range.

The process to decide on this FLE won't be quick so maybe CW might have made a decision about the 40mm by then.

Or is it just technically not possible to make a 40mm GMT?

If they can make a 38mm GMT, they could easily do a 40mm. The movement is no different.

You will need to coerce one of the Photoshop Masters to come up with this.

Reply from Chris regarding our questions....

Some specific questions....

Can logo color be changed from white to something else?[Chris Ward:-] yes. subject to approval.

[Chris Ward:-]

Can it be embossed on a standard dial?[Chris Ward:-] yes -no tooling exists at the moment, so that would be an added cost. I assume not on the smoked dial.[Chris Ward:-] correct

Can the the twin flags device be applied on the smoked dial as on the standard dial?[Chris Ward:-] No

Is the blue case PVD or DLC? [Chris Ward:-] - PVD

Can GMT bezel rotation be changed from being unidirectional to bidirectional?[Chris Ward:-] answer is yes it can….but case order is 300…

Can the sweep hand be tipped in red or other color?[Chris Ward:-] yes

…also hands can be blackened on white dial backgrounds

Based on these responses, it eliminates the following mock ups as shown in my last summary post...

GMT #14, #15, #16, S6, S7, S8, S9.

Of course those could be redone without the applied twin flags.

I will do another summary post tomorrow.

Opens up decent options now with the possibility of embossed word mark/colour change coupled with applied flags. Also, blackened hands on white dial might put me back in the running for a white dial again. This could be fun, I just wish I had some photoshop skills

It is technically possible, yes.

I don't know the case size differences internally between the GMT and the standard watch, but the movements are very similar in size. If the GMT movement will fit into a 38mm case, it is logical that it would also fit a larger (40mm) case. If the case dimensions between the 38mm standard watch and GMT are the same, then a 40mm GMT would be very straightforward to assemble, although not necessarily desirable by CW depending on the plans for the future models.

I'm interested to see what the final options will be to choose from but unless I fall completely in love with it I'm unlikely to be able to find the funds for it unfortunately.

Confirmation of being able to get blackened hands on a white dial is excellent news and makes this my preferred option. It would also make the LE special compared to the standard polished hands on the white dial range.
