Switzerland is a Schengen country, so I can walk in and out from France or Germany without any border control, so does that mean technically speaking, I should be declaring anything I’ve bought in Switzerland when I return?
Yes.

Thanks, didn’t know that. Does that mean we in other EU countries (currently...), have to pay VAT when importing from Switzerland?

Yep, technically you should claims a Swiss VAT refund (minimum purchase 300 CHF) at the border post (if you can find one) and then pay your home country's VAT.
For a business importing from Switzerland, Swiss VAT should not be levied on export and importing country VAT is assessed on landing.
While Switzerland is part of Schengen, the customs controls remain.

Delivered today, with the packing info, order info, order number, value etc. all showing to the public.
Can't say I'm a fan of CW's approach to data protection.

Correction, if I may.
Change has happened.
'Documents' were never previously placed in a clear wallet on the outside of a package.
What is on display is though, I will agree, unacceptable.
@theaaronp - will you be raising this issue directly with CW?

I'll be emailing them asking why this information was displayed in this way, not that I expect much more than a copy and paste answer.

Ok stand corrected. And the receiving of wrong items ordered in the sale?
That the next thing to be changed?

Shoddy - presumably that should have been the address label?
Hats off to the courier for even finding you - I presume the delivery address must have been visible somewhere?
Could have been worse I suppose, at least they didn't expose your CC number

One side had my address on it, this was on the other side.
Absolutely zero reason why it should be stuck on the outside of an envelope. It should have been placed inside.

Peculiar as well - but still shoddy.

I incurred in a similar issue, with my order not being processes until I asked further explanation to CW's customer service, which promptly fixed the issue and made sure my order was dispatched

i think it's pretty common for packing slips to be on the outside of a box in a clear sleeve. but they normally only show shipping information outwardly and rarely ever have pricing on them.

Unless "Meinberg" thinks Switzerland is in the Eurozone?
Switzerland is in the Single Market, which allows free movement of goods between it and the EU, so if the EU is a more important market than the UK, then there is trade upside to moving there. Lower corporation tax and VAT rates too.
When I buy watches from Brellum in Switzerland I know that I'm going to receive a VAT/Duty demand once my watch has arrived with HMRC.
I'm quite intrigued by the prospect of

Calm down dear. While this is unfortunate, It's hardly 'all showing to the public' as it's been delivered by courier.

And I'm sure no courier company employee has ever skimmed private information gleaned from a parcel.
