Impatient buyer here, so do I get a track and trace email?

Post by Twan-Sloot »

Hi guys,

I have a trident elite on pre-order since may second, my first order with CW, 12th of June they charged my credit card. Was wondering if I get an email when they send the watch, with a tracking number and such or does it just show up on the doorstep?

Eagerly awaiting the watch as you can see

Any more experienced CW buyers here who know the proces?

Thanks,

Twan

Yes, you should receive an email with a link to a website where you can get the DHL tracking information when they ship it.

You mentioned they charged your credit card already and I think they only do that when they shipped it. Check your spam folders for the email or contact them for more information.

They probably authorized the card but haven’t charged it yet. Authorizations will show up as “pending charges” in most banking apps on a credit card. They charge when they ship.

No they charged it, they reserved it more than a month ago, and nope nothing in the spam.

Strange. Standard e-commerce practice on to do what’s called a pre-authorization when an order gets placed to make sure the credit card has enough funds. But then only charge / collect the funds when the item gets shipped, or at the earliest when the logistics process has started to ship - like putting the item in a box and printing the label.

That said, if it’s a debit card or you pay with PayPal, the idea of pre-auth doesn’t really exist and it looks like the money gets taken immediately.
