40mm in Black / Black has been the best seller of the C60 Trident Mk3 releases.
I’ve always felt the 38mm-43mm range was at both extremes of what I can wear comfortably, and that 40mm would be perfect. It seems the C60 Mk3 buyers agree. If that gives CW a reason to expand the C60 range at that size, that would be a good thing IMV.

Bring on the 40mm Blue!
A member of CW staff told me today a blue 40mm would be released in October.
This is fantastic news. 40mm is the perfect size for most people. I strongly suspect that as the 40mm gets more variations going and begin outselling the 38mm, you're going to see the latter fazed out. I've got a 38mm Trident. Though it fits good, I wish it were bigger. Very few people can't fit a 40mm so that's the way moving forward. The 42mm would obviously stay as well.

An enjoyable time at the GTG trying on the new releases. Also good to catch up with a a few forumites I had met before and put a face to a few other forum names.

This was the first time I had tried on any CWs (other than the ones I own) since November 2015. Fair to say that my impression was that the quality of the casework and dials has noticeably improved.

As an owner of both mark 1 & 2 Tridents in both 38mm and 43mm I thought that the size of the 40mm mark 3 was spot on.

A couple of quick, poor quality, pics of the two watches that I was most taken by.

I did like the Apex, but not the type of watch I would wear enough to justify buying.

Haven't watched it, but Guys comment about the 40mm being the bestseller was interesting.

I wonder if that will prompt CW to consider releasing LEs in the 40 as well.

Looking forward to seeing what the GMT looks like in white ... if it gets released.

Neil,

Is it accurate to say the blue dial of the Dartmouth is a darker blue than the dials of the other C65 Tridents, as your photos seem to indicate?

Thanks!

I know I'm not Neil, but I can confirm that the blue on the Dartmouth is darker than the standard blue C65s. It's more of a navy blue - not surprising I suppose, given that it's a watch associated with the Royal Navy. It really is a handsome watch.

A good answer for me also as other blues have been a bit too light or bright.

I'm looking forward to seeing it but might wait until the 40mm Trident GMT in blue is available in October to compare the 2 as 1 has the deeper colour and logo in the (IMO) correct position and the other will have the GMT specification but logo at 9.

I was disappointed to hear that they are not considering the PVD blue finish for any watches.

I’ve watched almost 30 minutes of the video on YouTube but eventually given up as I’ve struggled to hear the audio clearly. Hopefully a summary of the mani Q&A items will appear.
I'm planning to get a precis of the Answers to Questions that I asked, posted up this evening in the Questions thread.

In the meantime Josh (@eggtronics) has posted up this article on his website, WIAA, with his notes from the Q & A.

^ Thanks Guy. Actually I spotted Josh’s post elsewhere so I’ll take a look later. Been retrieving a long absent Tudor BB GMT from the Rolex Service Centre, which I must say hasn’t impressed me.

I'm afraid Chris' chuckle that a loose screw in the back of a CW watch doesn't inspire me to buy anything for the foreseeable future.
Perhaps he didn't realise it was inside the SH21 movement (of my watch) and not a case back screw, or it was simply a nervous chuckle...I wasn't there to see but will assume it was a slightly embarrassed laugh bought on by tension. 8)

I was there and I am convinced that, at that point, Chris thought the issue was about a case-back screw, not a movement screw.
