Server maintenance - Forum down time

Post by Kip » Sat May 04, 2019 10:58 am

For those that suffer from CWF withdrawal symptoms, we wanted to give you ample notice......

There will be planned maintenance to our servers, which will affect our forum throughout Saturday 11th May 2019.

Amongst other works, Our host has invested in a new hardware racked firewall, which will require some time to physically plug in new devices in sequence in the rack - breaking connectivity to our servers as they are physically unplugged. This will require the server to be brought down or offline temporarily. It should provide a higher level of service and resilience, resulting in a faster network.

These works will be performed overnight on Saturday 11th May 2019. We have allowed for a longer maintenance window, starting at 6 pm (UK Time GMT+1) on Friday 10th May, and ending at midday on Sunday 12th May, to ensure the work is completed, however, we don’t anticipate it will take this long and provides contingency for any issues experienced - although we wish to inform you that you may experience issues during this window.

The forum will not be reachable while the server it is on is unplugged, new hardware installed and configured.

Forum activities are usually given in Maidenhead time, Greg, though I expect Kip will confirm.

Thanks Kip, back on now, ahead of schedule - was not too painful!
