Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
I was wondering if anyone could shed more light on the new Trident MK3 in blue. Specifically the blue dial color. If anyone has seeing it in person, that would be the best opinion to come from. I wanted to know if you can reference the color blue to an older/current CW watch or a non CW. Its always difficult to get a grasp of the color from pictures. Any type of description/reference would be appreciated. I'm from the states so I can't take a look at it first hand.
Thanks,

Re: Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
A question for those that have seen the MkIII range in the flesh......Is the same shade of blue on the standard C60, GMT and Elite?

Re: Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
The blue used on the Mk3 Tridents is the same throughout the range (so far) i.e. Pro, GMT and Elite are all in the same blue.
It is quite a dark navy blue, which looks lighter under interior lights and almost black in some levels of daylight.
It is a darker blue than the blue used on the outgoing Mk2 Trident; Pro, Acan etc.
A few pics;-

I’m very torn, I love the blue however wanted it ideally in the 40mm, the 38mm is a bit to small for a dive watch, whereas the 42mm might be a bit to big. I had a Mk2 a couple of years ago and it wore well on a nato, however tired one recently on a bracelet and was just to big so nervous of even the 42. Especially with 22mm lugs. Damn you CW, why can’t you just do the 40mm in blue

38mm was fine for dive watches 20-30 years ago. Why not now?

Meant for me personally, I like the smaller sizes, indeed have a Tudor BB36 that always thought would be to small, yet wears perfectly,Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 8:45 pmWhy?Mike2795647 wrote:..... , the 38mm is a bit to small for a dive watch, whereas the 42mm might be a bit to big.

however found that the 38’s sit quite high on the tridents. I am tempted to order both though and see which I prefer

Re: Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
Good to know. I’d love to have a dive watch in a blue that almost looks black. But I’d also like a dive watch that comes in at 40mm. Oh well, can’t win them all.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 12:09 pm It is quite a dark navy blue, which looks lighter under interior lights and almost black in some levels of daylight.

Re: Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
I have a relatively large wrist, so the blue 42mm will fit just fine. In fact my c60 chrono is a 43 and looks good quite alright, but the lighter and tad small watch will probably wear better.
Chris,
Thanks for the response back with the great pics and descriptions! It was very helpful in that I wasn't looking for something too bold in color. The blue you described and showed is right up my alley. I am sold on the 42mm in blue!!! I am glad I held up on the c65 auto in blue two months ago. Although i think there is room for both...hmm, decisions...

Re: Trident Pro MK3 in Blue
Sorry if it’s already been said somewhere, but will there be a blue 40mm version at some point?
I really like the 40mm size but the matte looking dial doesn’t do it for me on this particular watch.

Seriously though, it depends on how well the 40mm sells (it's on trial for now) and whether it cannibalises sales from 38 & 42.
