Is there really a "problem" here? :?
Remember that we're looking at enlarged pictures.
Scaled to size on my CAD package, the 40mm hour hand is ~0.7mm longer than the 38mm hour hand and the gap between the hand and marker on the 40mm is ~0.5mm.
Really don't think there will be a perceivable difference in person unless your looking for it.
Not for me as I'd go 42mm anyway! But some of us were OCDing before all was revealed....

The more look at the new design, the more I like it - though I still think the previous Trident hands are excellent. Room for both I think.

Fear not young man. I read an article that indicates the average age of a Rolex owner in the UK is 68.

Thank you for that Neil.

That's given me a spring in the step for the rest of the day.

I wish they would change the model number from C60. Seems to me a whole new design merits a new moniker.

I bet that is mostly due to waiting lists decades long lol.

It's all part of their DNA.

A Fiat 500 will always be a Fiat 500 to me regardless of form.

An MX5 has been and will always be an MX5 despite the changes over the years.

Long live the C60 Trident in whatever guise.

Been inactive for a long while but have been watching things from the sidelines and waiting for the new Tridents.

I'm into it.

Very, very glad they chose to honor 38mm again, after feeling forgotten for so long. I'd like to save up for a blue one now. Undecided between the GMT and standard, but I'll have some time to mull it over while I pinch my pennies...

Fair enough - Trident 600. I thought "C60" equated to case type?

But it ain't a big deal.

Years ago C60 meant automatic as opposed to C6 which designated the dreaded quartz.

As you imply what does it really matter.

This do?

No issue in my view. How about you?

Don't understand the backside overhang on either hand, but not a deal breaker.

The broadly similar hands on some of the Seiko Prospex models have an overhang, albeit it’s usually a matt black overhang.

The CW ones look fine to me.

mvlow wrote:Guy, How does the 42mm feel on the wrist compared to the MkII? Does that 1mm make any real difference?

How does the 42mm wear? GOOD. Image Really sits on my wrist well.

Bottom line; the Mk3 is smaller, not by much but it is. Lug2lug is shorter by a bit too. This along with the sculpted case, a la C65, makes it wear smaller.

I'd wager that those who, from the 43mm Mk2 think they want a 40mm will find the 42mm Mk3 agreeable, but at the same time those (like me) who feel comfortable with the 43mm Mk2 will be fine with the Mk3.
jkbarnes wrote:Guy, can you get a shot of your Mk 2 next to the Mk 3?
Comparison photo of 43/42mm Mk2/mk3. Somewhat deceptive as the Mk2 is sitting higher, and the bracelet vs strap provides its own optical effect; making the Mk3 look smaller than it is.

Hope this helps.

For the 42mm I think it's a small but very welcome improvement. :)
