New Strap: as good as a new watch?

Post by Czechia »

I've just changed the strap on my C60 trident red bezel from the red soft leather back to the bracelet after 6 months and it feels like a new watch!

I was looking for a new CW for a few weeks now but a change of strap has curbed my itch.

I may even just buy a few different straps to keep the existing collection fresh.

Do you find that a new strap is as good as a new watch?

Almost, I would agree. The right strap makes a huge difference.

 It's a slippery slope though- before you know it you have a whole box full of straps, leather and rubber, a few after-market deployants, a wide assortment of spring bars and you even start mixing up the buckles to try to perfect the strap you want. Beware !

I agree entirely. I have a Mont Blanc Sport where the original rubber strap gave up the ghost. I never really liked it anyway. With a 19mm lug width, I tried a few different options, leather, nato, MN, until I found a 19mm Tropic which fitted perfectly and gave the watch a new lease of life.
