And there is this from Newmark and/or a new Geckota G-02 to consider? Both could be bought for the cost of a Trident, both British brands, both a bit different and decent quality? So much choice.

Also it's 50 posts before you can submit a post to the 'Want to Buy' section. Personally it seems ridiculous that you can't submit earlier for that. I contacted some of the Moderators about this and they say this is the rule. If I was trying to make a quick killing on a watch, eg purchasing a limited edition watch and trying to cash in, even by posting after just one post members have the easy option of not buying. As for the 'Want to Buy' section, a member might be thinking about freeing up funds for a purchase and a new member can't post a message which might help them decide how to raise the funds by selling that particular watch.0uatiOW wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2019 8:58 pmI stand corrected. It used to be more, but I agree no harm opening up SC to buyers a little earlier.
I could post 50 ridiculous posts to reach the required number but refuse to do that because of my integrity but that integrity gets put down with this rule.
To quote others, "rant over"!
Cheers,
Chris

I'll have to read 'em rules, but I'm not sure why you can't post a WTB if you can purchase through Sales Corner after 5
I do however understand the higher count required for listing items for sale.
It really doesn't take long to reach the 50 post count if you hang around and participate in things though

Re: Diver shortlist and some convincing needed
Thanks Ryan for your thoughts. That was what I was thinking when I went to Sales Corner recently. I do intend to hang around but only post when I feel it's worthy. Writing unnecessary comments to threads is a waste of everyone's time in my opinion so reaching 50 will take its time. It would be easy to comment on everyone's posting on 'CWL of the day' with things like 'great watch' or 'good choice' just to reach the target but as I said I would be undermining my own integrity.
Whether it's 5, 50 or 500 posts on the forum to be able to post in Sales Corner it's down to the other members discretion whether they wish to reply or not.
Anyway, thanks once again Ryan as I had said 'rant over' - my apologies for carrying on!

I didn't know about the posts thing to access certain pages until now. Are there any other hidden milestones?

You clearly haven't done your Homework, as mentioned by Kip in your Members Introduction thread;-

I think I've whittled my shortlist down to 3. Thanks for the advice and suggestions.

Why not share the details of your shortlist and the reasons you selected them; we'd all be keen to know.

I assume I'll now be banned for not choosing a CW.

Re: Diver shortlist and some convincing needed
No, you won't. You won't be banned for your bad attitude either, although maybe you should be. Everyone on this thread has been helpful, polite and friendly. For you to respond with this drivel is incredibly disrespectful to all the help that has been offered. There is no requirement to own a CW to participate on this forum, and no one has suggested that, other than yourself. Hopefully you'll find a better attitude and stick around (and share pictures of whatever you choose), but you need to straighten out your anti-CW issues first.
Best of luck with your purchase.

Not banned for not buying a CW, but for the same reasons you have been banned many times before.Deployant Dave wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:15 pm - Elliot Brown Holton

It amazes me that you continue to waste your time. Many members ferreted you out. Take the hint.
You keep trying to make fools of the members while in the end only making a fool of yourself.

I presume that this was the umteenth return of Madjam?
Curious to know how he was rumbled as there were no indicators that were apparent to me, although the comment about being banned for not selecting a CW immediately seemed a bit off - I guess that this has become some sort of sport to see how long it takes to get flushed out!

It doesn't take long. I have now found that if someone winds me up enough to warrant a grumpy reply, it tends to be him....... - and I was ready to pen a grumpy reply a couple of days ago.PaulJS wrote:I presume that this was the umteenth return of Madjam?
