New Trident, new strap?

Post by John Price »

In the recent get together with Chris Ward, Mike France, and Peter Ellis (saw the youtube video, wasn't able to attend) I remember Mike (I think it was) talking about a new strap that would be released at the same time as the new gen C60. He mentioned that it'd be a bonded/hybrid rubber/fabric (I think) strap.

Did any of you attending the event get to see this strap? Any news or impressions about it? I've recently bought a C65 Vintage Diver (a post about my impressions of it to come) and this sounds like a tempting strap to add to switch out with the vintage oak strap (love those quick release pins!).

Thanks,

John

I’d very much be interested in a strap like that! In the meantime, I can whole heartedly recommend the Hirsch Arne as a worthy alternative. This is my go-to summer strap, and I just love it. It’s only weakness? No quick release pins.

When Adrian showed some of the renders in last years online video chat with Chris, it looked a carbon copy of the Hirsch Robby strap. Granted, it may have had a few tweaks between then and now.

Thanks jkbarnes, TigerChris.

I've seen that Hirsch Robby strap in person - very nice. I'd love to see CW's take on it.

The Hirsch Arne is nice too. But I'm really hoping for CW's to have the quick release pins.

I wonder if this is the strap in question? This pic is from CW’s Instagram feed.

I realized that after I shared the photo when I visited the CW website. Perhaps I should have done a little research first.

These just look superb! I think it looks classier than the Tudor Pepsi.
