Interesting milled elongated caseback indents visible on two of the sketches. I wonder if there's a departure from the 60 degree tool slots they have across the range including the new C65 auto.

I do like the new hands - the current Trident hands are seemingly getting a bit long in the tooth. However, I do fear that the MK3 will be approaching £1000, if similar price hikes are expected to any other model than has been 'updated'.

@triffidman - at the Edinburgh GTG, Mike France suggested that any price increase over the current MKII Trident, model for model, would be nominal.

They hope to keep it around £50.

Really wish there were more actual photos/info available - I've been itching to get a Trident back in my collection, but am now torn if I should get a 38mm MKII or hold out for the 40mm MK3. Ugh, this is torture for my impatient self...

^^^ They aren't releasing too much info yet (a) because it's not finalised and (b) because it could harm sales of the mk2

Is it known if they will make any improvements to the bracelet for the MK3 ?

I'm new to the brand, with a Blue MK2, and I think the bracelet could use a little attention to bring it up to the already exquisite quality level of the head:

The clasp design is brilliant, but the outer shell could use a little beefing up, IMO. Right now is a bit too spartan. And while there's nothing wrong with pins and collars, at certain level of watchmaking no one is really using them anymore...

Any word on the subject ?

Any suggestion or has anyone asked whether the 5 day SH21 will still be available in the Trident Mk3?

From recollection at the last GTG, there’s a new quick release bracelet coming. They are investigating screws but at present the cost / benefit doesn’t stack up.

Is it May 1 yet? Or April even when more details will be revealed.

It appears it may be similar in design, feel and size of the Seiko SBDC 015/051? And that's not a bad thing as it is a favorite in my collection. The fat stubby hour hand and skinny stick minute hand took some time to get used to but I like the look now.

There will be an SH21 Apex version. Therefore I’d assume a ‘normal’ SH21 version is entirely possible.

Is it possible to fit the SH21 in the smaller, 38mm case sizes?

From memory, I think not. It’s been in the C9 40mm, but the date wheel is very close to the edge of the dial. Add a diver bezel and I think a 38mm case is too small.

Shame, that’s what I feared. I’d love to get an in-house movement on my wrist. I’m hitting the CW Towers showroom soon and hope to try the C1 Morgan 3-Wheeler. Hopefully that will scratch the itch?

I seem to recall a C60 MK1 ‘fire sale’ before MK2 was released. Will be interesting to see if stock levels are such that it happens again
