C65 Trident Automatic

Post by what-time-is-it »

£695 - £760

Combining the rugged ‘60s appearance of our acclaimed C65 Trident Diver with the convenience of a self-winding Swiss-made movement, the C65 Trident Automatic offers more than just a mechanical upgrade: with the adoption of raised circular indexes and a refined dial aesthetic, the Automatic has its own iconic look and feel.

This is the one. Love it! I'm having one (although pleeeease let them be available in November when I will have the funds + justification for buying it).

I love this watch.

The C65 case and overall design is a delight and CW are to be congratulated for creating it. It's so versatile and I'm sure further different options are planned or are potentially possible, a Speedmaster style auto Chrono for example if it could fit the case.

The cleaner and less busy bezel is outstanding and I like the blobs which is unusual for me.I 'm sure it'll be a winner.

9 o'clock still prevents a purchase by me as discussed on other threads and a black date on a blue dial is 1 of those minor details that shouldn't happen. I realise the financial benefit of 1 colour date wheel for all dial colours but black on blue sticks out somewhat to prevent a perfect watch face.

Agreed, 100%! This is the one for me. It's just a matter of when. I'm hoping it's still available when I'm in a position to add it, and the C65 GMT, to my collection.

That’s one pretty watch.
I’d go for the black dial on a bracelet I think, but I’ll probably wait until the Trident3 comes out so I can compare them side by side before parting with any cash.

I didn't expect to like it from the teaser pics. I was also worried that the blobs would be too 'homagey' but I reckon they've pulled it off.

I’ll echo comments that this is one lovely looking piece. I’m particularly keen on the slim edge profile of the case. Funnily enough, the logo at nine no longer bothers me like it used to.

That's where I'm at, I might well buy one of the two so want to see the Trident first. But leaning towards the slimmer C65 which I think looks lovely. Probably the blue dial on the bracelet as I have plenty of black dialled watches already.

I do like the blue and pricing is a steal. Pity about the black date wheel so I'll have to cogitate on that a bit.

Just not keen on the blob indices. The rest is great.

Just clicked the button on the blue w/ camel strap. :silent:

Oddly enough the black does nothing for me but blue looks great.

Opposite with the handwound version. Like the black more than the blue. :datz:
