I did enjoy the "ladies behind the mike" from the last GTG. Now we need to hear the three wise men and audience questions better. Especially the audience questions.

I'm sad I can't make this one.

Highly recommend though!

Let's see a good turnout.
First people to see the production mk3 Trident!

Hope everyone that goes has a good time. I’m disappointed I can’t make it due to timings. I was really looking forward to getting Guy up to do the Macarena, as requested by several on you tube in Edinburgh!

Hi all,

New member and first post.

Regards the Manchester event and previous ones...are there any cost savings on offer and are you able to purchase a watch when there?

Regard to all

Matt

I plan on doing so and will start a suitable thread nearer the time (probably first week in April).

Just some feedback on the CW events page https://www.christopherward.co.uk/cw-events

It currently shows a picture of Manchester, with the Beetham Tower building in the background - this Manchester landmark happens to be connected to the Hilton Deansgate and some may see the picture and go to the wrong venue!

Do any other forum members have suggestions for directions?
I’m planning on driving up (from Suffolk) and use whatever park and ride options are available. Any advice which stops would be a good start and finish?

I personally won’t bother with a park and ride, and to be honest I don’t know of any. I drive into Manchester and saturdays usually aren’t a problem. I would research car parks before setting off, there are plenty of NCPs about and program your sat nav accordingly. I assume you aren’t doing Suffolk and back in a day? In which case see if you can park at your accommodation before making your way to the hotel for the GTG.

Coming from Suffolk it will be up north via A1 or M1 then M62 west, M60 and into manchester via the M602 at J12 of the M60.

Just realised if you look on a map, this route seems a bit daft as it appears to take you round manchester and looks a long route.

Don’t be tempted to come off earlier though as it will take you through Manchester as the GTG are on the other side of the city. It is best accessed via this route as it will be quicker then crawling across town.

The hotel is very close to Manchester Piccadilly station so it is very good if you are coming by train. Manchester has a wide range of buses, trams and trains that come into the centre from all around Manchester. I know a few to the North that have parking and tram in but would have to check the South. What road are you coming in on at Manchester? There are a variety of car parks around the station that you could use. Parking is cheaper at the weekends.

Here is the full list that Manchester Transport have but there are lots of 3rd party parking as well.

Thanks for that information, Iain.
I’ve had a look at the route and see what you mean, but best to stay on the better roads for sure.
The drive there and back in a day does not phase me that much. So long as I can fuel up on McD and Costa on the way it will be just fine :-) Alternatively, I have family just outside Stafford who I might stay with.
Thanks again and see you there
