I’m assuming the Pepsi C65 GMT has the same dimensions as the oringal C65 GMT?

Thanks for any responses.
The C65 Trident Diver (handwound) uses exactly the same case as the C65 Trident Automatic.

Impressive that CW fit the SW200, rotor and all, into the same 11.55mm thick case. Many thanks Guy.
Best regards,
John

Thanks Guy. Same case; do you know if it’s the same case back or a slightly deeper version?

Oops, not specific enough.

Same case with the same caseback. Image

CW deliberately made the C65 case and caseback for the automatic. With the handwound, there is therefore some room to spare.

Were any indicative prices given for this or the other new watches shown at the GTG?
Mick, just reading about the watch in the latest edition of Loupe.

The article mentions that the auto (SW200 movement) will sell at exactly the same price as the handwound.
Wow, if it is the same price as the handwound, and therefore much cheaper than the Oris 65, then I am saving for this model. Love it.

Guy obviously has the current info on the caseback of the new C65 Automatic as he was at the GTG and saw the specs, but just as an FYI CW did already change the caseback between the C65 Vintage Diver and the C65 GMT to allow for the automatic movement in the GMT. If you look at the CW site it shows the C65 diver as 11.55mm height and the C65 GMT as 12.05mm height, a difference of 0.5mm. I own both watches and the difference if barely perceptible. I'm assuming the ETA movement in the GMT movement must be a little taller than the Selitta movement they are using in the new C65 automatic, which is why they made the GMT caseback a little taller.

CW's website for the C65 Trident Diver says: " A slim movement at only 3.35mm high." The ETA website for the 2893-2 movement says its height is 4.1mm, so indeed, the ETA is taller by 0.75mm. That the difference in height at 0.75mm is greater than the difference in case thickness of 0.5mm between the C65 Trident Diver and the C65 Trident GMT foots with Guy's earlier comment that CW deliberately made the C65 Trident Diver case thick enough for the forthcoming C65 Trident Automatic so the same caseback could be used.
Best regards,
John

The SW200 is actually 4.6mm thick (0.5mm thicker than the 2893), so there must be room to spare in the GMT as well.

Whether it's 11.5 or 12.0mm, to all intents and purposes, essentially the same and a very nice case diameter and height. I agree this is quite similar to the Oris 65 and will be about half the price, arguably a real bargain.

C65 Trident Diver Automatic

Post by gaf1958 » Mon Jan 21, 2019 11:56 pm

Watches with a GMT movement have to also provide a little bit of extra height between the dial and the crystal to cater for an additional (GMT) hand stacked on the same shaft. I don’t know whether that accounts for any of the overall height difference or not, but it may...

Nonetheless, half a mm is bugger all

Very smart! Now do I purchase that as my third trident or should I wait in case they release a bronze version in the future?!? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Love this black dial with vintage lume blobs/batons markers. Reminds me of Tudor BB 58. My next purchase definitely.

Does anyone who attended the recent GTG know if CW mentioned the Khaki dial as a future colo(u)r for the upcoming C65 Trident Automatic and/or the C65 Trident GMT? Having a blue C65 Trident Diver, I think either model in Khaki would be the most appealing version.
Best regards,
John
