Question for those who’ve returned watches to CW Towers.
What have you used as packaging?
Watch pod? bubble wrap?
Customer services have suggested a glasses case.
The original wooden box my watch came in is too big for returns envelope.
Ordered my returns pack, have to send back my watch after only 2.5 months
Thanks all.
Returns packaging used.

Re: Returns packaging used.
I've not had to do it with a CW but I used my pod to ship an Omega. That's what they're for. It will fit inside a padded envelope okay and I add a little extra bubble wrap just to be sure.

Re: Returns packaging used.
Managed to pick-up a CW watch pod when I was at the show room...
I'll be using it to send a recently acquired second-hand watch, in the returns pack, to CW for servicing.
However, bubbling wrapping the watch and putting in a hard glasses case would work.

I’ve used both an old style CW box and one of my Oakley glasses hard cases. No issues with either.

Cheers chaps.
Bubble wrap and I also picked up a pod from CW Towers is the way to go I think.
I’m guessing they’ll send it back
Thanks again, appreciate all your feedback.

Re: Returns packaging used.
If it’s a return for repair, I remove the strap, wrap liberally in bubble, put it in a Jiffy bag, then put that inside the plastic returns envelope.
If it’s a return for refund, which I’ve only used once, I used the original packaging including the outer cardboard box. If it’s adequate for shipping to me, it should be adequate for shipping back.

For a repair. I was going to put it on a cheaper Barton strap but am tempted just to send the head in.0uatiOW wrote: ↑Wed Jan 16, 2019 9:51 am If it’s a return for repair, I remove the strap, wrap liberally in bubble, put it in a Jiffy bag, then put that inside the plastic returns envelope.

Same here, I just send the watch head in, sans strap or bracelet.

Re: Returns packaging used.
Yes it is the Grand Malvern Power Reserve.
First 2 months I could see the reserve charging back up if I hadn't worn it overnight or a couple of days. By the end of the day the rotor had charged the watch back up quite significantly. Helped by the fact it has an indicator.
Now for the last few weeks it is not re-winding. Its not making back-up any lost reserve. So I think there's something wrong with the rotor.
Only had it 2.5 months.
