Your 2018 watch haul?
I start off every year by saying that I am only going to buy the watches I really NEED, which logically ought to mean none at all, but which usually takes me to around February or March!
Last year I survived until March. I was doing quite well until the much coveted C70 Ascari COSC appeared in SC. Then I decided I simply HAD to get a GMT, and the C60 arrived, again from SC, in May. It has been worn a lot and has fulfilled its intended purpose by going on trips to Greece, France and Cyprus. It has performed brilliantly and I would not be without it. There was a golden opportunity to revisit the past, if you will excuse the pun, when this rather lovely C5 Mk1 appeared in SC in October. It had to be. I haven’t worn it in earnest yet, because it has been with CW for a service, but I’m looking forward to getting it back this week. Finally at the beginning of November I was at CW Towers, and took the opportunity to bag myself a lovely blue dialled C 65 Trident Diver. So, that was my year in watches. CW 4, the rest 0. Which is why I felt justified in placing this topic in General Discussion.

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
For me, 2018 was to be a simple one watch project: to parlay my Citizen quartz dive watch for an automatic. The plan began well in that it sold quickly at a good price on ebay and than I went replacement hunting and bumped into CW. Nice dive watches, but I stumbled on the C8PR (I had coveted a pilot with PR, sub seconds and altimeter date for years, and am yet to see the like) and just had to have one..so I bought a Trident as well. And then a wholly gratuitous C9BDD.
But it didn't end there, oh no. The Trident turned out far too precious to be diving in, so to add insult to serious financial injury I acquired a Seiko Mini Turtle....
Disastrous year......

2018 was my introduction into CW watches in September when I purchased the following in a CW sale:
So pleased with the watch, I have now purchased a C8 UTC Worldtimer in their January sales. Which hopefully will arrive this coming week.

2018 was a quiet year for me, with only three incoming...
Nothing happened until July, when I grabbed a bargain C65 Classic Black in the CW sale:
This was followed by my (man maths) "free" Explorer:
And then the long-awaited Ombre:
Wonder what 2019 will bring...

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
A Samsung Gear Sport - bought for use when exercising in the Gym or out walking and to be a Heart-Rate Monitor (HRM) without the need to wear a chest strap. At the time I bought this the Apple Watch didn't provide sufficient HRM facilities but I preferred the shape of the Samsung anyway as it looked more like an ordinary watch and I could wear it when swimming.
It ended up being worn as my main watch throughout the summer as I could do a quick-change from rubber strap for exercising to CW leather strap for normal wear due to the quick-releases on each strap.
My dad's old and final watch - not really a purchase but I had it serviced, the glass replaced and bought a new leather strap for it. Dial size is small compared to new watches, it's not worth anything financially but everything sentimentally.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch After months of deliberation I decided eventually to buy the Hesalite version in October. By selling 3 CW watches and p/ex'ing 2 TAG Heuer watches I managed to limit the impact of the purchase and it's been worn every day since except for 2 days over Christmas/New Year when I wore my black/black C60 600 Trident.

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
Right, I thought I’d best get in quick before Guy crashes the site!
All old pics, and no CW’s in 2018, but my 4 purchases for this year have been;
Hamilton Regulator
Rado Original
Oris Staghorn
Seiko Orange Samurai
2019 has started off with CW C7 Auto Chrono due to arrive tomorrow

Re: Your 2018 watch haul?
I started 2018 with the aim of getting another decent blue dial watch and then calling it quits. That had also been my objective for 2017. A few close calls, but couldn’t get over the line.
Before looking at what I ended up buying in 2018, I did a quick count up of what I had bought in 2015 onwards and how many of them are still in my “regularly worn” category as opposed to the “why did I buy that?”/“sold”/“sell in 2019, when I can be bothered”/“store” categories.
I picked 2015 onwards, as that was when I decided to retire and having bought a couple of “retirement watches” that was supposed to be a full stop on my watch buying habit.
The numbers purchased seem to have been, with the number in brackets being those still regularly worn:
2015 - CW 4 (0). Other 7 (4)
2016 - CW 0. Other 5 (2)
2017 - CW 1 (0). Others 5 (1)
2018 - CW 0. Other 4 (3)
The watches for 2018 being a Smiths, a Rolex and a couple of non G-Shock Casio’s.

2018 was a good year, or bad depending on your perspective...
That’s not to mention a couple more that came and went
