GTGs - Mini Chats with Chris - 2019
Christopher Ward are planning on doing a whistle stop tour of the UK. They will be starting in Edinburgh and visiting three or four other cities across the UK before returning to CW towers.
In order to make the most of this CW have asked the Forum and CWE (CW Enthusiasts on Facebook) to work together in promoting these events. They will be starting mid-January and the more people we can bring along the better the experience will be. I'm sure anyone who has taken part in previous Forum GTGs will agree they are a great opportunity to meet like minded enthusiasts.
The idea is to give Forum / Group members the opportunity to meet Chris and the team, sort of a mini 'Chat with Chris' in person, ask questions and potentially get up close and personal with some of the new watch releases. Additionally it is intended to have another 'interest' to enjoy on the day; maybe some whisky in Edinburgh.
The outline plan is to hold the first Chat/GTG in Edinburgh on Saturday 19th January 2019 with following location / dates being;-
Manchester - mid/late April
Cambridge - mid/late August - Edit 11th March 2019; venue changed to London
Bristol - mid/late October
I've put a poll at the head of this topic to allow you to 'vote' for the location or locations (more than one vote allowed; all four will be fantastic) that you will be interested in attending. No commitment at this stage.
Once we have an indication of numbers and more information, we will let you folks know.
I hope this is well received and I look forward to seeing anyone who will be attending the Edinburgh day (and some whisky).

Great idea, shame there isn’t one planned for the South East.

^^^Maidstone is SE, and I guess Cambridge is < 1 hour on the train from London? I'd have been happy if there was an event in Glasgow

Maidstone? Maidenhead maybe?Thegreyman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 11:32 pm ^^^Maidstone is SE, and I guess Cambridge is < 1 hour on the train from London? I'd have been happy if there was an event in Glasgow

Would also love to see Chris whistle stop into North American as well.
Perhaps Boston (Kip proximity), Western USA, Western Canada (one of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver) then finishing in Toronto. Perhaps the city with the strongest density of CW owners could drive the stop in Western Canada and Western USA?

Submitted for consideration.

Re: Mini Chats with Chris - (GTGs) 2019
Maidenhead (CW Towers vicinity) / London / the South East may come up in the future, but for now i.e. 2019, it was felt important to get out to other locations.
Must say that I've never visited Edinburgh before, driven through / around it on a couple of occasions but never visited.
Looking forward to it.

I am not sure about the relevance of Maidstone to this?Thegreyman wrote: ↑Thu Nov 15, 2018 11:32 pm ^^^Maidstone is SE, and I guess Cambridge is < 1 hour on the train from London? I'd have been happy if there was an event in Glasgow
Cambridge 1 hour on the train from London, but not much use for most folk who live in the South East.
My train journey to Cambridge, excluding to and from station at either end, would be over 3 hours each way and would be similar for a high proportion of people who live in the South East outside of a London.
London on the other hand would be accessible for far more people.

I meant Maidenhead of course and the fact that it is easier if you live in SE England to arrange a visit CW Towers, potentially chat to some of the CW team and try on the hardware.

That sounds brilliant. Edinburgh is close enough that I’m very keen to attend.
The only issues might be 1) what the kids need taken to that day and 2) with three trips to Edinburgh in the new year to watch rugby, a permission slip might be tricky to get signed.
But I fully intend to attend.

Slightly off topic, but I have just noticed, reading this on TapaTalk, that there is a new icon of three blue bars in a white square in a blue circle, next to the reply arrow, not seen before which allows you to view and use the 'Poll'.

What sort of time would this be happening? - I'm committed to other things on Saturday morning so afternoon would be ideal

Depending on when Manchester is the only one close enough for me to consider attending.
