New Khaki C65 Trident Diver

Post by nordwulf »

If our other C65 Trident Divers nodded to the demure divers of the '60s, the khaki-coloured dial of this new model too evokes the spirit of the rugged field watches present throughout the mid-20th century. Large Arabic numerals and hands filled with Old Radium SuperLumiNova® offer excellent visibility and legibility, while its hand-wound Swiss-made movement ensures the C65 will remain a more than trustworthy timekeeper wherever you go.

I thought Khaki was more like a brown/yellow color. This looks more like an olive green in the pictures. Not a fan either..

Agree this is more olive green. When I think khaki, I think 90s girl band All Saints, who were all partial to brown/beige/off white khaki clothes...

Interesting association there. When I think of the All Saints, khaki isn't the first thing that springs to mind :)

That one looks even greener and also has a green bezel and non-vintage lume.

Dream on, Patrick. Image

My C65 Trident Diver P'type is the 'one that got away' having a green dial and khaki bezel; as opposed to khaki dial and black dial on the production model.

As for the production model being more olive green than khaki, having seen the production model in the metal, I will advocate that the colour of the dial is pretty true to being khaki.

I like it and have the quandary as to get one as well as my prototype. :problem:

Posted at the same time as my post, Frank.

To clarify; the bezel is categorically not green, it is Khaki.

The lume is a pale / light green in daylight and in the dark the lume is likewise.

It appears Khaki can mean both brown and green. Perhaps CW should just have called it (olive or khaki) green to avoid confusion.

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/khaki_green
khaki green: A colour between khaki and green; light olive drab.
This colour was formerly called khaki by the military (especially British) with the light sandy brown colour now called khaki being distiguished as khaki drill. Khaki green is now more likely to be called olive drab in military usage.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khaki
Khaki: is a color, a light shade of brown with a yellowish tinge. Khaki is an equal mix of sage and buff so it is considered a quinary color.

And that’s green. Full stop.
Love the blue though which is on my radar.

I'd have called it "olive drab". It looks like a British army khaki green. I think I'll stick with my Orion "drab" which is a very similar colour.
